You know what struck me first about this place? The moment you climb up to the Dachgeschoss (top floor) on Rothermundtstraße, you get this immediate sense that you’ve found something special in Dresden. I mean, Blasewitz isn’t exactly the touristy part everyone talks about, but honestly – that’s exactly why this apartment works so well.

The rooftop terrace is obviously the star here, and it actually delivers on what the name promises. When I stayed in late spring, I spent way too many evenings up there with a bottle of local Riesling, watching the sun set over Dresden’s skyline. You can see the old city from up there, sort of floating in the distance across the Elbe, but you’re far enough away from the crowds that it feels like your own private viewing deck. The terrace isn’t huge – don’t expect a resort-style setup – but it’s got proper outdoor furniture and enough space to really relax. During the day, the morning light up there is incredible for coffee, though fair warning: if you’re sensitive to street noise, the Rothermundtstraße side can get a bit busy during rush hour.

What I really appreciated was how the apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile. The kitchen actually has everything you need (sharp knives, decent coffee maker, real plates instead of those flimsy hotel ones), and the whole place has this comfortable, slightly bohemian vibe that fits perfectly with the artsy Blasewitz neighborhood. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, and honestly, after a day of walking around Dresden’s cobblestones, that shower pressure was exactly what I needed. Storage space is pretty generous for what’s essentially a converted attic – though tall people should watch their heads in a couple spots where the roofline slopes down. The Wi-Fi was solid, which mattered since I was doing some work between sightseeing.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute tram ride to the Altstadt, but there’s something nice about coming back to this quieter residential area after dealing with tourist crowds at Frauenkirche or Zwinger Palace. The 61 tram line runs right down Blasewitzer Straße – super easy once you figure out the ticket system. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks away on Tolkewitzer Straße that does proper German breakfast pastries, and I found a little wine shop nearby that the owner clearly knew his stuff about Saxon wines. Parking can be tricky on the street, but the host gave me good tips about the residential parking situation.

Look, it’s a 3-star place with a 9.1 rating, and those numbers make sense when you experience it. This isn’t luxury accommodation, but it’s thoughtfully done and the terrace really does make it feel special. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dresden more like a temporary local than a tourist passing through, and you appreciate having your own outdoor space to decompress, this place delivers. Just bring a good book for those rooftop mornings – trust me on that one.

  Schöne helle und gut ausgestattete Wohnung. Gemütliche Einrichtung und sehr sauber. Wir haben nichts vermisst.
  Bequeme Betten, wir haben gut geschlafen.
  Tolle Dachterrasse.
  Sehr gute Verkehrsanbindung durch Bus und Straßenbahn. Ruhige Wohngegend.
  Bäcker gegenüber, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten fussläufig zu erreichen.
  Der große Garten ist ebenfalls fussläufig zu erreichen und empfehlenswert.
  
  Was wir erwähnen möchten, ist das nicht optimale Duscherlebnis im Bad. Ab einer Körpergröße von 1,80 m wird es beschwerlich, da man nicht mehr gerade stehen kann.
  Auch sollte man Treppensteigen mögen, da es keinen Aufzug gibt, und man bis zur Wohnung mehrere Stockwerke hinter sich lassen muss.

  Зручно, що три великі кімнати, облаштовання кухня. Було все необхідне, навіть олія, спеції, паперові рушники. Легке заселення.
  Зручні мякі матраси, але дуже великі подушки. Поруч є великий супеомаркет.
  
  What could be improved: Треба зробити щось з підлогою на террасі, неможливо вийти на неї бо підлога сипиться чорною крихтою. Важко знайти парковку біля будинку. Було не приємно прочитати, що можна пити лише одну капсулу кави в день, а за іншу треба доплачувати 50 центів. Це не гостинно, воно того не вартує.
  Важко підниматись на 4 поверх з валізами.

  Place and neighbourhood ok. Close to the park and lots of shops in the area, however public transport very expensive, so better have your own car to travel. Nice city, i liked it there.
  
  What could be improved: There wasnt any mop to mop the floor so if we spilled something we couldnt easily wipe it and clean. So floor was pretty dirty unfortunately
