It’s basically your private viewing deck overlooking Dresden’s surprisingly green Neustadt district. You know what struck me most? How quiet it is despite being right in the middle of everything. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof, but all you hear are birds and the occasional tram rumbling by in the distance.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place – which is honestly the best kind of stay. Everything’s thoughtfully arranged without being fussy about it. The kitchen actually has proper knives (travel pet peeve of mine), and there’s this cozy reading nook by the window where I spent way too much time with my morning coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up. What really sets this place apart though is the location knowledge you get. The hosts clearly live in Dresden and know their stuff – they pointed me toward Kunsthofpassage, which I never would’ve found on my own, and suggested hitting Pfunds Molkerei early before the tour groups descend. Smart advice, honestly.

Here’s the thing about Neustadt that guidebooks don’t really capture – it’s got this laid-back, artsy vibe that feels authentic rather than touristy. From this apartment, you’re walking distance to some seriously good restaurants (try Lila Soße if you’re into that whole farm-to-table thing), but you’re also close enough to cross the Elbe and hit all the classic Dresden sights without feeling like you’re staying in hotel row. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be a luxury hotel – it’s just a really well-executed space that feels like home but better. The terrace is definitely the star though, especially in the evenings when the light hits those baroque spires across the river just right. Fair warning: you might end up spending more time there than planned, which honestly isn’t the worst problem to have in Dresden.

  Schöne, geräumige und gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung mit wirklich vielen Stauraum. Die sonnige Terrasse in der ersten Etage konnte vom Frühstück bis zum abendlichen Getränk immer wieder gut genutzt werden.

  The location is perfect, very close to Neustadt and 15 minute walk to trams.
  The apartment, reached by a short flight of stairs is spacious and comfortable with a lovely balcony area surrounded by trees and overlooking the front garden. The kitchen is great, equipped with everything we needed for our four day stay. The hosts were helpful and unobtrusive, making us feel relaxed and able to come and go as we pleased. Parking on the street is free but limited, however you will definitely find a spot somewhere on the block. Dresden is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. We would love to stay here again.

  Die Größe und die Aufteilung der Wohnung ist optimal und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Fußläufig ist man in 10 Minuten an der Elbe und spaziert in 30 Minuten in die Altstadt.

  Die Lage ist einfach perfekt – entweder um sich zu erholen oder um Dresden zu besichtigen. Man kommt wirklich überall schnell hin. Wir hatten Fahrräder dabei, was es natürlich noch einfacher macht. Die Wohnung ist ansonsten sehr chick und elegant, das Bad perfekt, es gibt auch eine zusätzliche kleine Toilette neben dem 2. Schlafzimmer, was sehr gut ist. Auch der Balkon ist natürlich toll. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, gerade wenn man auch mal einen Tag in Ruhe in der Wohnung bleiben möchte, um z.B. zu kochen: Die Küche ist super. Alles in allem eine super Untrekunft!
  
  What could be improved: Das Bett im 2. Schlafzimmer ist etwas schmaler und die Küchenzeilen relativ hoch für kleinere Menschen, aber eigentlich fällt einem nichts wirklich negatives ein. Alles war einfach klasse!
