The name makes it sound like some generic vacation rental, but honestly, stepping into this 90-square-meter apartment on Bauhofstraße feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-designed place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and actually cared about their guests.
The location is one of those Dresden gems that locals know about but tourists often miss. Bauhofstraße sits right in the Altstadt, but it’s tucked away from the tourist stampedes around the Frauenkirche. You’re literally a five-minute walk to all the big sights, but when you come back in the evening, the street has this quiet, residential feel that’s honestly perfect after a day of sightseeing. And parking – I mean, anyone who’s driven in Dresden knows this is basically gold – comes included, which saved me probably 20 euros a day and a lot of stress circling blocks looking for a spot.
The apartment itself feels spacious in that way German places do when they’re actually designed thoughtfully. The terrace caught me off guard – it’s not huge, but it faces away from the street so you can actually have your morning coffee without listening to delivery trucks. The kitchen is properly equipped too, not just the sad mini-fridge and hot plate situation you sometimes get. I ended up cooking a couple of dinners because, well, the nearest grocery store is right around the corner on Wilsdruffer Straße, and after eating restaurant food for three days straight, sometimes you just want to make pasta and sit on that terrace. The WiFi actually works everywhere (tested it thoroughly for work calls), and the shower has proper water pressure – those little details that can make or break a longer stay. If I’m being completely honest, the only thing that threw me was how quiet it gets at night. Coming from a busy city, I almost missed having some background noise, but I guess that’s what you get when you’re staying somewhere that actually feels like a neighborhood rather than a tourist district.
Hotel in Dresden booking should be done early, especially during opera season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed performances at the famous Semperoper.

Wir haben uns in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung war sehr ruhig trotz Bahnschienen nebenan, diese hat man durch die doppelten Fenster in den Schlafzimmern überhaupt nicht gehört. Die Wohnung war im Großen und Ganzen sehr sauber und es wurden jedem Gast Handtücher für den Aufenthalt zurecht gelegt. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und wir würden immer wieder kommen.

So, we don't really agree. This apartment is spacious and beyond clean. It's a new building with a some parking underground and an elevator. They have almost everything you need. The building is very close to the train tracks, so you get to see all sorts of trains go by. The train noise wasn't an issue. The Wifi was very good.
A tram stop is just 2 or 3 blocks away, and we took it several times over just a few days. It was easy to use.
The neighborhood is quiet.
What could be improved: I can't put my finger on where I felt they missed the mark, except that it's clearly an investment property, and as such has no charm or personalization. That's it! The title says "Cozy", it's not a cozy place. That doesn't mean it's bad, just mis-named.
All the walls are the same color. All the curtains and bedding are the same color (the same color as the walls?), and EVERYTHING was purchased at IKEA, probably on the same day. So, nice place, inexpensively furnished. Rental in a box. In a mixed use neighborhood, close to the city center. So, I thought there was a mis-match between the price of the apartment and the actual. Part of that is because it's a 2 BR. IMHO, they charged a little too much extra for that.
Needs a microwave.

It is near to the S-Bahn station. Very close to the city center (5 minutes walk). It is also very big, modern, beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms are super huge! Loved it.
