The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – you’re literally a two-minute walk from the famous Zwinger palace complex, which honestly feels a bit surreal when you step out for morning coffee. The building itself sits on Grüne Straße, this quiet cobblestone street that somehow escaped the tourist crowds despite being right in Dresden’s Altstadt. I mean, you can hear the tour groups on the main drag, but turn onto Grüne Straße and it’s like stepping into a different world.

The apartments themselves are what I’d call authentically German – clean, functional, with that slightly austere charm that grows on you. Don’t expect Instagram-worthy decor, but everything works and the beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). What really sold me was the kitchen setup – actual full-sized appliances, not those toy fridges you get in most European hotels. Perfect for grabbing groceries at the Edeka around the corner and avoiding tourist restaurant prices every meal. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to figure out Dresden’s tram system or book those Semperoper tickets everyone talks about. Speaking of trams, the Postplatz stop is maybe three blocks away, so getting around the city is actually pretty straightforward once you decode their ticket system.

Here’s the thing though – location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to all the major sights but still feel like you’re experiencing real Dresden life. The Frauenkirche is right there, sure, but so is this little bakery on the corner where locals grab their morning pretzels and the staff barely speaks English. I loved that contrast. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – street spots are limited and there’s some kind of resident permit system that I never quite figured out, but there’s a paid lot about five minutes away that worked fine. The 7.8 rating seems about right to me; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but for a three-star place in this location, it delivers exactly what it promises. Just don’t expect concierge service or fancy toiletries – this is more like staying in a local friend’s spare apartment, which honestly might be exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Dresden.

  Die Lage der Wohnung ist unschlagbar. Direkt am Zwinger. Trotzdem sehr ruhig gelegen. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist für einen Urlaub in Dresden völlig ausreichend. Alles war sauber. Einkaufen, Restaurants und die Öffis sind gleich um die Ecke.
  Kontakt via Mail war schnell, nett und verständlich.
  Würde ich immer wieder buchen, kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

  Great location. All the sights are within walking distance.

  This super cosy apartment, equipped with everything you might need for a short stay, is situated in a very quiet street and at the same time in close proximity to main sightseeing places and museums in the historic center as well as to the hustle and bustle of the shopping area and cafes. And luckily we parked the car in a 10 minutes walk for free.
