City Apartment Dresden – 3 Zi – Garten Overview
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually in Pieschen, which honestly most tourists completely skip over – but that’s exactly why I loved it. The City Apartment Dresden sits on this quiet residential street where you’ll hear more German being spoken than English, and there’s something really refreshing about that when you’re trying to get a feel for how locals actually live.
The three-room setup is perfect if you’re traveling with family or just want space to spread out without bumping into each other every five minutes. I mean, hotel rooms can feel so cramped after a few days, but here you’ve got room to breathe. The garden – and it’s a proper little garden, not just some tiny balcony they’re calling outdoor space – became my morning coffee spot. There’s this lovely quiet in Pieschen that you just don’t get closer to the Altstadt, especially early in the day before the neighborhood really wakes up. The tram connections are actually better than you’d expect too; the number 13 gets you to the historic center in maybe fifteen minutes, and you’ll pass some interesting bits of Dresden that most visitors never see along the way.
What really impressed me was how the hosts clearly understand what travelers actually need versus what booking sites think we want. The kitchen is properly equipped – I’m talking real knives that cut things, not those dull apartment knives that just mash your tomatoes. There’s decent Wi-Fi throughout (I worked from the garden table a few mornings), and the shower has actual water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in these older Dresden buildings. The whole place feels lived-in but well-maintained, if that makes sense – like staying at a friend’s apartment rather than some sterile rental. Parking was straightforward too, which saved me the headache of circling around looking for spots like I did in other parts of the city. The 9.5 rating makes total sense when you stay here; it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just works the way you hope it will.
Early hotels booking in Dresden requires advance planning during peak cultural seasons when visitors flock to see the city’s remarkable post-war reconstruction and artistic treasures.

Terrific location if – like us – you are driving to Dresden and want to park up and get the tram into the city. Plus also spotlessly clean, comfortable and has everything you need

Die Gastgeber haben an alles gedacht: 1 Flasche Wasser, Kaffee, Tee und sogar eine Familien-Portion für Spaghetti Napoli waren hinterlegt. Die Kinder haben sich darüber gefreut.

Very tidy, specious and nice apartment. It has everything you need, even dishwasher and washing machine capsules. The only thing surprise us was that the apartment is on the basement floor, with windows are on the ground level. It did not bother us much, but we just did not expect it. Parking is on the street for free. It was a bit crowded with cars, but it’s possible still to find a spot. Otherwise, we really like the place. It takes only 10 min by car to the downtown. And there are few grocery shops around.
