Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place called “Villa Graf von Pfeil” – sounds pretty fancy, right? But when I found this apartment tucked away on Bautzner Straße, I realized why it’s got that 9.6 rating. The location is actually perfect if you know Dresden at all. You’re right in Neustadt, which means you can walk to all those quirky bars and cafes along Hauptstraße, but you’re far enough up the hill that it stays surprisingly quiet at night. The “am Wasser” part isn’t just marketing fluff either – there’s this lovely view toward the Elbe, and on clear mornings you can actually see the mist rising off the river. I mean, it’s not waterfront exactly, but the glimpses you get through the trees make you feel more connected to the city than being stuck in some sterile hotel downtown.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s grandmother had impeccable taste and plenty of money to spend on good furniture. Everything’s thoughtfully arranged – proper blackout curtains (thank god, because those summer sunrises come early), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for real cooking, not just reheating leftovers, and this gorgeous old wooden floor that creaks just enough to feel authentic without being annoying. What really got me was the attention to small details… fresh flowers when I arrived, really good coffee in the cupboard, and towels that were clearly chosen by someone who cares about thread count. The heating works properly too, which honestly can’t be said for every place in these old Neustadt buildings. Parking was easier than I expected – there’s usually space right on Bautzner or on one of the side streets, though you’ll want to avoid the area during Saturday morning farmers market chaos.

You know what really sets this place apart though? It feels like you’re staying in Dresden, not just visiting it. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of locals grabbing their morning coffee and tourists who’ve figured out that Neustadt is where the real energy is. You’re a fifteen-minute walk to the old town sights, but when you come home at night, you’re in a residential area where people are walking their dogs and chatting with neighbors. The S-Bahn station is close enough to reach other parts of the city easily, but far enough that you don’t hear the trains. I stayed during late spring and spent most evenings on the little balcony with a beer from the Späti downstairs, watching people bike home from work. It’s that kind of place where you start planning your next Dresden trip before you’ve even checked out.

  It feels like you are in a rural village, when you're in the apartment and garden, there was a lot of green and a lot of birds. We liked to be in this quiet place before and after looking around in Dresden.
  
  What could be improved: The sleeping room is divided by a curtain from the living room. We didn't mind and this is also clearly visible on the pictures, but a door would obviously be more convenient if one is sleeping and the other one is up and about.

  Die Lage ist toll, direkt an der Elbe am Fahrradweg. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön eingerichtet.
  
  What could be improved: Leider gibt es auf der Terrasse viele Ameisen und damit leider auch einige im Wohnzimmer.

  Die Wohnung liegt nahe am Elbufer und auf der anderen Seite gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bäcker, Alnatura, Rewe und dm. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel direkt vor Ort und auch die Haltestelle Pundts Molkerei der Stadtrundfahrt liegt nah. Direkt an der Elbe kann man mit einer Personenfähre/ Räder auf die andere Seite übersetzen, dort ist an der Anlegestelle ein Biergarten.
  Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet mit eigener Terasse. An heißen Tagen bleibt die Wohnung angenehm kühl.

  Super zentral, aber trotzdem idyllisch und ruhig gelegene Souterrain-Wohnung. Check-in und check-out vollkommen unkompliziert. Bett war bequem, in der Küche so gut wie alles vorhanden, selbst Spüli und Tabs. Ausstattung mit Liebe zum Detail. Wir empfehlen die Wohnung gerne weiter.
  
  What could be improved: Es war alles prima, das Tüpfelchen auf dem i wären noch zwei Fahrräder gewesen, aber die haben wir uns dann über nextbike ausgeliehen. Das war auch vollkommen ok.

  What could be improved: Come mi era stato comunicato che ci doveva essere una persona ad aspettarmi questo non è avvenuto, mi è andata bene che un vicino dell'appartamento ci ha aiutato contattando una persona ( problemi di lingua soprattutto quando si parla al telefono ) che ha indicato come recuperare la chiave di ingresso, senza questa persona sarebbe stato veramente difficoltoso

  Die Wohnung ist einfach fantastisch. Sie liegt in einem (hellen) Souterrain einer historischen Villa mit einem großen Garten direkt am Elbufer. Von dort spaziert man der Elbe entlang in die Innenstadt. Die Gegend gehört sicher zu den attraktivsten Dresdens. Die Wohnung selbst ist hochwertig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, auch funktional von der Küche bis zum WLAN und dem Parkplatz ist alles bestens. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

  Die Lage, sehr schöne geräumige Ferienwohnung , ,TV, WLAN alles tippi toppi, unkompliziertes Check in, zum Empfang einen Piccolo und was Süsses verbunden mit netten Worten. Direkt an der Elbe alles fußläufig zu erreichen. Alles in allem wir würden wieder kommen.
