The apartment sits on the fifth floor (and yes, there’s an elevator, thank god), so you get these decent views over the residential streets without all the tourist chaos. The three rooms are laid out smartly – I mean, German efficiency and all that – with enough space that you don’t feel like you’re camping in someone’s closet. The kitchen actually has proper counter space, which is rarer than you’d think in European apartment rentals.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture: you’re literally a ten-minute walk to Dresden Hauptbahnhof, but it doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping next to a major train station. The neighborhood has this quiet, lived-in vibe – there’s a decent bakery two blocks over that does these incredible pretzels (locals line up around 8 AM), and you’ve got the Große Garten just a short tram ride away if you want to escape the city entirely. The tram connections are honestly better than being right in the center sometimes – you can hop on line 10 or 11 and be at Frauenkirche in about fifteen minutes without dealing with the pedestrian crowds. Plus, parking around here is actually manageable, which… if you’ve tried to park near Dresden’s old town, you know that’s worth its weight in gold.

The apartment itself has that clean, minimalist thing going on without being cold about it. Good water pressure in the shower (always worth mentioning), decent wifi, and the beds are firm in that European way that either works for you or doesn’t. The windows face the street, so there’s some ambient city noise, but nothing that kept me awake – just the occasional tram and normal neighborhood sounds. Check-in was smooth through a key box system, which I actually prefer to hunting down a property manager at odd hours. The whole place feels well-maintained without being precious about it, if that makes sense. For a 3-star spot with an 8.5 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – a comfortable base for exploring Dresden that doesn’t eat your entire travel budget. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff, cook a simple dinner, and actually relax instead of just crash between sightseeing marathons.

  De locatie. Dicht bij het centrum maar wel lekker rustig waar ook goed je auto te parkeren is.
  
  What could be improved: Bij de bevestiging van de boeking zagen we dat het appartement op de vijfde verdieping gelegen is zonder lift. Er werd hierbij vermeld: zoals in de omschrijving aangegeven. Zojuist nog even gezocht en inderdaad als je heel goed zoekt is het te vinden. Voor ons niet echt een probleem, vandaar dat we het hebben door laten gaan. Het zou toch sieren als dit wat duidelijker naar voren komt bij de informatie.
  Wat ons vooral tegenviel was dat we een app kregen met het verzoek om 40 euro te betalen voor toeristenbelasting en bedlinnen en handdoeken. Hierop heb ik terug geappt dat wij dit al betaald hadden met een foto van de kostenbevestiging van booking.com. Hierop antwoordde Lav dat de toeristenbelasting niet meer betaald hoefde te worden maar alleen nog de 20 euro voor de bedlinnen en handdoeken. Dit hebben wij gedaan maar gaf toch een naar gevoel. Nu we thuis zijn en deze review schrijven toch nog maar eens wat onderzoek gedaan op de site om te kijken wat er gecommuniceerd is. Een zinssnede uit de omschrijving van Lav: "including fresh towels and essentials". Het gaat mij niet om de 20 euro maar om het unheimlich gevoel dat ik er aan over heb gehouden. Dat is niet fijn als je hiermee wordt geconfronteerd tijdens je vakantie.

  Really good for a small family. Good location to nearby shop/tram line.
  
  What could be improved: No lift access for 11 flights of stairs. Makes it difficult for elderly/frail people.
  Unwelcome fragrance upon arrival but cleared after opening up the room for fresh air. Linen and bathrobes/towels could do with an upgrade to make it feel more fresh/new.
