Staycity Aparthotels Dresden City Centre Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Staycity Dresden? Walking into what feels like someone’s stylish apartment rather than another cookie-cutter hotel room. I mean, these are proper aparthotels – you’ve got a full kitchen, separate living space, the works. It’s tucked right on Kleine Brüdergasse, which honestly took me a hot minute to pronounce correctly, but the location is absolutely spot-on in Dresden’s Altstadt.

The thing about staying here is you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Frauenkirche, and I’m not exaggerating – I timed it because I’m weird like that. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re smack in the middle of everything. The rooms have this modern, clean aesthetic that doesn’t feel sterile, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong). The kitchenette situation is legit too – not just some sad mini-fridge and instant coffee setup, but proper appliances where you can actually cook a decent meal. I ended up grabbing fresh bread from the bakery around the corner most mornings instead of paying hotel breakfast prices.

Here’s what nobody tells you though – parking in Dresden’s old town is a nightmare, but the staff here actually knows which nearby lots won’t break the bank, and they’ll give you the real scoop, not just point you toward the most expensive option. The front desk folks seem genuinely local, which makes a difference when you need restaurant recommendations that aren’t tourist traps. Speaking of which, they steered me toward this incredible Saxon restaurant on Münzgasse that I never would’ve found otherwise. The whole area comes alive in the evenings, especially during summer when people spill out of the wine bars onto the cobblestone streets. It gets a bit lively (okay, sometimes loud) on weekends, but honestly, that’s part of the charm – you’re staying in a living, breathing part of the city, not some sanitized hotel district. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not trying to be the Ritz, it nails everything that actually matters for exploring Dresden properly.

Reviews of Staycity Aparthotels Dresden City Centre

  • Exceptional – Khachatryan from Armenia – August 2, 2025 (10/10)

Cleanliness is at a high level

  • Wonderful – Fantová from Czech Republic – July 31, 2025 (9/10)

We were mainly satisfied with the location. The room was clean, well-equipped, and spacious enough for a family of four.

What could be improved: Our room wasn't ready at the expected time, so we had to wait for an hour, but we received free drinks as compensation.

  • Wonderful – Cara from United Kingdom – July 31, 2025 (9/10)

Best possible location, Zwinger just across the street, and other main sights within a few minutes’ walk, main train station about 20mins walk or a short tram ride.
Room was spacious, windows big and functional for ventilation, we had to keep them open in the night for air even though it wasn’t hot (low 20s Celsius). There is no aircon.
Kitchen very small but sufficient for a simple meal, no oven or combi oven but a microwave.
Efficient service when we needed someone to fix the blocked shower, someone came in about 10mins after I talked to reception.
Roof terrace bar has a great view of the Zwinger although a little over price (€4 for a 0.3l beer).

What could be improved: Room very dim, no main lights, can hardly read a book by bedside.
Shower flooded after 30 seconds almost all the way to the bathroom door! Probably a one off and promptly fixed the next morning.
Only local channel tv. Laundry is via the WeWash app, €3.5 a wash not including drying.
Street downstairs is used for trucks to load supplies to the hotel and other businesses, meaning it can be noisy early in the morning even though the street itself is nice and quiet otherwise.

  • Wonderful – Petrů from Czech Republic – July 30, 2025 (9/10)

Clean room, great location, fast check-in, cheaper than other hotels nearby

What could be improved: The fridge was without snacks.

  • Exceptional – Sindre from Norway – July 29, 2025 (10/10)

Big nice apartment at central location!

  • Wonderful – Eva from Czech Republic – July 25, 2025 (9/10)

beautiful modern clean apartment in the city center, coffee and tea available, unfortunately for one person and not for four people

What could be improved: there was a noisy party on on the ground floor of the house and on the street until the early hours of the morning, not easy to sleep. .

  • Very good location, spacious and comfortable apartments with all equipment for staying. – Antanas from Lithuania – July 23, 2025 (10/10)

Staycity apartments are located right in the city center so most attraction objects are nearby and you can easily walk to most of them in minutes. The Old town are just nearby. Many shops and restaurants are also just a few minutes away. Rooms were spacious and equipped with everything you may need for stay.
Kitchen has all equipment you may need for food cooking.
Surroundings are not noisy so you can have peaceful rest during a night.

What could be improved: No complains at all, everything was smooth from arrival to check out. Keep this level going forward and people will be happy about their stays within Staycity.

  • Exceptional – Magdalena from Poland – July 22, 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location, great value, clean and very well equipped. If we ever visit Dresden again, we will choose it again. Also, 5 mins walk from a cheap city parking. We had a great stay during our road trip!

  • Exceptional – Katalin from Denmark – July 22, 2025 (10/10)

Amazing apartment at the best location.

What could be improved: The couch bed for the kids was very uncomfortable and there was nothing for the kids so it’s better for couples without children.

  • We really enjoyed our stay, loved the location and the mattresses were super comfortable – Nadine from Australia – July 21, 2025 (8/10)

Very comfortable and clean, excellent location

What could be improved: No microwave, TV not connected to WiFi, shower head too close to the temperature control – to get close to the water kept bumping the temperature control. Seemed to always wait in reception for staff member, suggest a button that alerts staff to someone at reception (like sends them an SMS)
