You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step into this fourth-floor apartment on Marienstraße, you actually feel like you’re living in Dresden rather than just visiting it. I mean, sure, it’s called “Pineapple Apartments” (which honestly sounds a bit touristy), but once you’re inside this 91-square-meter space, you realize someone really thought about what travelers actually need.

The location is pretty incredible – you’re literally in the heart of Altstadt, which means you can walk to the Frauenkirche in about three minutes, maybe five if you stop to grab coffee from that little place on the corner. What’s brilliant is that Marienstraße itself isn’t one of those crazy busy tourist streets, so you get this perfect balance where you’re close to everything but not drowning in crowds when you come home at night. The free parking spot is honestly worth its weight in gold here – anyone who’s tried to park in Dresden’s old town knows what I’m talking about. Most places either don’t offer parking or charge you 15-20 euros a day for the privilege.

The apartment itself feels surprisingly spacious, and I think it’s because they didn’t try to cram in a bunch of unnecessary furniture like some places do. The windows face the street, so you get nice natural light during the day, though you’ll hear some street sounds in the morning – nothing crazy, just the normal rhythm of the city waking up. What I really appreciated was how well-equipped the kitchen is; they actually have proper knives and pans that work, not those flimsy things you usually find in vacation rentals. There’s something satisfying about being able to cook a proper meal after wandering around the Christmas markets (if you’re there in winter) or exploring the Zwinger all day.

The whole building has that solid, old-world feel – thick walls, high ceilings on the fourth floor, and one of those European elevator systems that makes you grateful you packed light. Check-in was smooth, though they do use a keypad system rather than meeting in person, which worked fine for us but might feel a bit impersonal if you’re the type who likes face-to-face interaction. Honestly, with a 9.4 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s got that rare quality of feeling like a real home in an amazing city – which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to soak up Dresden properly.

  This place is amazing. Everything you could want in a property. Close to town, with parking and the flat is great. There is plenty of space, a great bathroom and kitchen area that is stocked with essentials to get you in. We will be back that is for sure.

  The apartment was spacious, well equipped, and our host provided things like coffee pods, soap, shampoo, paper towel and laundry soap. Underground parking was included in the price.
  The location is fantastic – 10 minute walk to the Frauenkirche and 5 minute walk to Zwinger. There’s also a Rewe grocery right around the corner.
  
  What could be improved: Street noises could be loud with the windows open, but given the location, it’s totally understandable.
