Pension Lindenhof Overview
You know what struck me first about Pension Lindenhof? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Blasewitz where you’d never expect to find a hotel. I mean, Theodorstraße feels more like where locals live than where tourists stay – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place work.
The building itself has that solid German pension vibe, nothing flashy but everything feels properly maintained. When I walked in, the owner (I think it was the owner anyway) greeted me in English, though my terrible German attempts seemed to amuse him. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no complicated key cards, just “here’s your room, breakfast is until 10.” The kind of place where you get the sense they’ve been doing this long enough to skip the unnecessary bits. My room was larger than I expected for a 3-star place, with those heavy German curtains that actually block out light and a bathroom that was clearly updated sometime in the past decade. The heating worked perfectly, which – trust me – matters in Dresden winters.
What really surprised me was how well-connected this spot is, even though it feels residential. There’s a tram stop maybe three minutes away that gets you to the Altstadt in about fifteen minutes, and the whole Blasewitz area is actually pretty lovely to wander around. The locals seem to hang out at this bakery down the street (I never caught the name, but you can’t miss it), and there’s something nice about staying somewhere that feels like a neighborhood rather than a tourist zone. Parking was straightforward too – street spots were usually available in the evening, though I’d get back before dinner time to be safe. The breakfast was typical German pension fare, nothing revolutionary but solid bread, decent coffee, and those little jam packets. I actually found myself looking forward to the quiet morning routine of it all. Sure, you’re not getting room service or a concierge, but the 7.9 rating makes sense – it delivers on what it promises without pretending to be something fancier. If you want to feel like you’re staying in actual Dresden rather than tourist Dresden, and you don’t need someone to carry your bags or arrange theater tickets, this works really well. Plus, something about staying in Blasewitz made the whole city feel more approachable, less like I was just another person with a camera.

Accomoditation was good. I like selfcheck-in proces that was easy, but instruction on the paper that we got with the keys could be writen an english also. We couldn't find the room because there were also private flats in this buldings. We very enjoy the breakfast, it was amazing.
What could be improved: Only disadvantage was that we traveled with the bikes and there wasn't any safe place for our bikes. Only spot where we could left our bikes was in front of pension's restaurant in bike stand. Luckily just bikes lights were stolen during the night. 🙂Pleasant – Razan from Germany – April 29, 2024 (6/10)
The woman there was very nice and I came one hour earlier and she let me in.
What could be improved: There were no soap at all even to watch my hands, the towels smell bad and the sheet we sleep on is rough.Fair – Tomasz from Poland – February 26, 2024 (5/10)
What could be improved: Three persons room was equipped with two single beds only
Felt like my home, comfortable, not fuss and excellent breakfast. – Renée from South Africa – August 10, 2023 (9/10)
The breakfast was great! The persons attending to breakfast often asked for our personal preferences. Most professional. It was lovely to be able to have suppers there on the days that they were open (not Sundays and Mondays). Location was actually good, but we got lost on arrival, as the Dresden transport system had a big change owing to construction work, which threw us at first. Once we knew the correct connections to take, it was easy. Area quiet, upmarket (on Elbe, near das Blaue Wunder) and out of the inner city.
What could be improved: The WiFi dropped from time to time, which mattered when we were trying to download our routes for the next day.Wonderful – Art from Ukraine – September 10, 2022 (9/10)
It's situated in one of the most wonderful places in Dresden! Quiet, green, full of fresh air. Highly recommend! The room and hostel itself are made in minimalistic style but that's purely German. I like it. 😉
What could be improved: Was a Little bit weird when I arrived and no one was in the restaurant where I had to pick up my keys. And then it turned out the keys were not there. Anyway, one man from a personnel helped me and he was VERY polite. Thank you!Hopfully arrive, painful getaway 🙁 – Júlia from Hungary – September 6, 2022 (4/10)
Clean bed and bathroom. Good location, easy acces.
What could be improved: No toalett paper, uncorfortable bad matrace, small pillow whithout pillowcase, big pillow so unconfortable too. It was a horrible night, my back and neck is hurt all day. 🙁Fair – Leon from Denmark – August 6, 2022 (5/10)
