The tram connections from nearby are actually fantastic (the 4 and 10 lines get you into the Altstadt in maybe 15 minutes), but I found myself walking more than I expected because Blasewitz has this really pleasant, tree-lined character that makes even longer walks feel easy. The apartment itself – well, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect luxury, but everything works properly and it’s clean in that thorough German way. I particularly appreciated the kitchen setup because it meant I could grab fresh stuff from the Saturday market near Schillerplatz and actually cook a proper meal. The windows face a quiet courtyard, which means you’ll sleep well even if you’re sensitive to street noise.

Look, an 8.9 rating doesn’t happen by accident, and after staying here I totally get it. This isn’t the kind of place that tries to impress you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies – instead, it just does the fundamentals really well while putting you in a spot where you can experience Dresden like you’re living here temporarily rather than just passing through. The neighborhood has this authentic feel where you’ll find yourself chatting with the woman at the small grocery store or getting recommendations from the guy at the corner café (his coffee is surprisingly good, by the way). If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel connected to a place rather than just checking off tourist sites, this works brilliantly. Just keep in mind that it’s more apartment-style accommodation, so you’ll need to be comfortable with a bit more independence – but honestly, that’s part of what makes it feel special.

  Die liebevoll eingerichtet Wohnung lässt von der Ausstattung keine Wünsche offen. Die kleine Küchenzeile ist gut ausgestattet und bietet verschiedene Sorten Tee, sowie verschiedene Kaffeesorten. Die Straßenbahn ist nicht weit von der Wohnung entfernt, sodass man bequem in die Stadt fahren kann.
  
  What could be improved: Zu der Wohnung gibt es keinen Parkplatz, parken ist aber in den Nebenstraßen möglich.

  The apartment was clean, good location, close to the tram stop. Near to the center. I missed that there was no hairdryer and shampoo… So if you plan to go, keep that in mind =)
  But overall we are satisfied, as for an overnight stay for a short period – great.
