NorthApartments Dresden am Park Overview
Honestly, NorthApartments Dresden caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way. You know how sometimes these apartment-style hotels can feel sterile or half-baked? This isn’t that. Walking into the lobby on Grunaer Straße, there’s this understated elegance that feels more boutique hotel than corporate chain, even though they’re clearly going for that extended-stay vibe.
The Altstadt location is actually brilliant – you’re close enough to walk to the Frauenkirche and all the main sights (maybe 15 minutes on foot), but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window. I stayed here during Striezelmarkt season, and while the old town was absolutely packed, this little pocket near the park stayed refreshingly quiet. The apartments themselves are what really won me over though. We’re talking proper living spaces with kitchens you’d actually want to cook in – not those sad little kitchenettes with a hot plate and good intentions. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t spend my nights thinking about my mattress at home, and the bathrooms have that satisfying European efficiency thing going on.
What I appreciated most was how they handle the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Check-in was smooth, parking wasn’t a nightmare (trust me, this matters in Dresden), and the staff knew their neighborhood well enough to point me toward the good bakery two blocks over instead of just handing me a generic tourist map. The building itself has character – you can tell it’s been thoughtfully renovated rather than gutted and rebuilt. There’s this nice balance between modern conveniences and keeping some of that classic German architecture intact. I mean, you’re still going to hear some street noise during the day since you’re in the city center, but nothing that kept me awake at night. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the most luxurious place in Dresden, but it absolutely nails what it’s going for. If you want somewhere that feels like a proper home base for exploring the city (or if you’re doing a longer stay for work), this hits that sweet spot between comfort and practicality without the premium price tag of the fancier places closer to the river.

Reviews of NorthApartments Dresden am Park
Quite Dresden Vibe – Nikki_chainsaw from Poland – June 22, 2025 (9/10)
It's a huge apartment in reach of the center. There were enough place even for work. Big table allowed both of us work there. The apartment located close to the center. But anyway you would need to walk a bit – 20-30 mins to the historical part.
What could be improved: Location is good, nevertheless there are only few options of breakfast restarants nearby with limited menu. The parking is not available on site, but there is street park right behind the building – 6 euros per day.Wonderful – Hanna from Poland – March 18, 2025 (9/10)
Clean, comfy, beautiful, big space, balcony, smart tv.
I really enjoyed my stay
What could be improved: No coffees, no teas in the flat. If you’re there for just couple of nights you have to stock up, afterwards travel with it.
Didn’t like lack of pressure in the shower and there’s a curtain instead of a sturdy glass.
The windows have a view over the street and it’s quite close to the pavement so someone could climb up if they wanted to.Comfy and clean flat. Cumbersome check-in, and minor issues. Good value. – Patrick from Germany – March 11, 2025 (8/10)
Spotless Clean newly renovated flat with comfortable bed.
What could be improved: Check in was a bit cumbersome with a link where you have to upload a photo of your passport/id to wait for a booking message with your entry code. Make sure to take care of it before you arrive to not be standing in the cold.
Also there is no luggage room if you need to depart later, wifi in my room didn't work but using the neighbour room wifi was no problem, the blinds on one of the windows were broken as well.Wonderful – Ruslan from Serbia – March 9, 2025 (9/10)
Clean, comfortable, close to the city center.
What could be improved: The process of checking in with the electronic locks was a bit complicated.Clean, pleasant and convenient! – Woermann from South Africa – February 4, 2025 (8/10)
Nice clean design, functional and convenient. Almost everything you need is provided.
What could be improved: The polyester linen and bunched up cheap hollow fiber pillows, full synthetic duvet were less in keeping with the ikea furnished apartment and made my sleeping arrangement unpleasant.Wonderful – Farhat from Germany – December 31, 2024 (9/10)
Central location. Bright and spacious room
What could be improved: The automatic lock at the main entrance is a pain to open.Wonderful – Alexandra from Belarus – December 18, 2024 (9/10)
Nice place to live in the centre of Dresden. All the facilities are provided. big rooms, clean and convinient
Overall higher satisfied and recommend to anybody visiting Dresden. – Mark from United States – December 5, 2024 (8/10)
Clean, homey, spacious, good value
What could be improved: Location is a bit far from the station and town center. Also, no convenience store nearby. At least I couldn’t find one. But overall still a very nice apartment and great valueWonderful – Anna from Czech Republic – October 28, 2024 (9/10)
We really liked the apartment because of its view and lightning, big windows… the park nearby
What could be improved: The building and the entrance door are not named as North Apartments so it was confusing and not so obvious but apart that everything was good.Decent appartment – Anka from Slovenia – September 20, 2024 (8/10)
Spacious and clean appartment, new furniture, comfortable bed.
What could be improved: The equipment is really essential: some shelf or table to put toiletries in the bathroom is missing. The window next to bed has no curtain. No wipes to clean the table. There is no key, you have to type the six numbers each time you go out.
Good appartment, but not luxorious.
