The apartment itself is one of those places that gets the basics really, really right. The WiFi actually works – I mean, it properly works, not that spotty hotel internet that cuts out every time you try to video call home. And they’ve got Netflix set up, which sounds trivial until you’re exhausted from walking around the Zwinger all day and just want to collapse with something familiar on TV. The space feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel room, with a proper kitchen where you can make coffee the way you like it (there’s a decent Rewe supermarket about a ten-minute walk down the hill if you want to grab supplies). The whole setup is clean and functional without trying too hard to be fancy – sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

What really sold me on this place, though, is the location’s sweet spot between accessibility and tranquility. Weißer Hirsch has this old-world villa vibe that a lot of tourists never see because they stick to the Altstadt, but you’re walking through tree-lined streets where locals are out walking their dogs and the pace just feels more human. There’s even a decent restaurant called Luisenhof nearby if you don’t feel like cooking, and honestly, their schnitzel is better than half the tourist traps downtown. The 8.5 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers on everything it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Parking is actually manageable here too, which anyone who’s driven in Dresden will tell you is no small thing. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning a longer visit where I wanted to feel a bit more settled rather than just passing through.

  Sehr gute Unterkunft für einen Kurzaufenthalt oder auch Urlaub. Wohnung hat alles, was man braucht. Parkplatz am Haus. Straßenbahn fährt in der Nähe. Bäcker gleich nebenan.
  
  What could be improved: Etwas laut durch die Strasse vor der Tür. Mit Ohrstöpseln aber fein. Sollte man nur vorher wissen. Und eins der beiden Schlafzimmer ist das Durchgangszimmer für das zweite Schlafzimmer. Sollte man auch vielleicht wissen, je nachdem, wie die Gruppe aussieht.

  In unmittelbarer Umgebung (fußläufig wenige Minuten) gab es Restaurants/Imbisse, Supermärkte und einen Bäcker. Der Parkplatz war direkt vor der Tür. Man konnte sowohl Dresden als auch sehenswerte Orte in der Umgebung gut erreichen. Das Wohnzimmer war recht gemütlich eingerichtet. Die vorhandenen Küchengeräte waren hochwertig. Die Heizung funktionierte. Das WLAN war gut und schnell. Die Wohnung war ziemlich groß. Kinderstuhl war vorhanden.
  
  What could be improved: Es fehlte an einigen Dingen, die ich in einer Küche erwarte: Topflappen bzw. Geschirrhandtücher, Schälchen, Schneebesen… Die Mikrowelle konnte an ihrem Standort nicht an die Steckdose angeschlossen werden – wir haben sie dann auf den Boden gepackt. Die Türen klemmten alle ein bisschen. Im Bad verliefen (wie auf dem einen Foto auch ersichtlich) die Schläuche der Waschmaschine offen an der Wand entlang. Da die Unterkunft direkt an einer vielbefahrenen Straße liegt, können nicht alle Fenster geöffnet werden, ohne den Lärm zu hören. Den Fernseher haben wir nicht in Betrieb nehmen können. Es wirkte teilweise etwas lieblos renoviert und unfertig (Leisten übermalt, Steckdosenabdeckung teilweise fehlend). Unter den Betten hätte Staub gewischt sein können. Das eine Schlafzimmer ist ein Durchgangszimmer.

  Uns hat besonders gefallen wie sauber es war und wie einfach das Handling war. Der Check in ging super einfach und der Gastgeber war schnell erreichbar. Außerdem war die Küche komplett ausgestattet und wir konnten uns problemlos Abendessen und Frühstück zubereiten
