Ferienwohnung Zentrum – Albert Overview
You know what struck me first about Ferienwohnung Zentrum – Albert? It’s actually in one of those classic Dresden buildings that somehow made it through everything this city’s been through. Walking up Albertstrasse, you’re right in the heart of Neustadt – and I mean the real Neustadt, not some sanitized tourist version. There’s this great little bakery literally around the corner where locals grab their morning brötchen, and honestly, that told me more about the neighborhood than any guidebook could.
The apartment itself is what I’d call genuinely comfortable without trying too hard. Three stars sounds about right – it’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities, but everything works and it feels like a place where actual people live, not some sterile hotel room. The windows face toward the street, so you get a bit of the neighborhood buzz during the day (which I actually liked – made it feel alive), though it quiets down nicely in the evenings. What really sold me was how close everything is on foot – you can walk to the Elbe riverfront in maybe ten minutes, and the whole Kunsthofpassage area with all those quirky courtyards is practically next door. I mean, you’re staying where Dresden’s creative types actually hang out, not in some business district.
The 7.7 rating feels honest to me – it’s solidly good without being perfect, which is exactly what you want from a place like this. Check-in was straightforward (no fancy lobby scene, just practical and friendly), and parking… well, it’s city center, so you’ll be dealing with typical urban parking situations, but that’s Dresden for you. What I appreciated most was that sense of staying in a real neighborhood where you can duck into a späti for a late-night beer or stumble onto some little restaurant that’s not in any tourist guides. The apartment gives you that local base without the tourist markup, and sometimes that’s exactly what makes a trip memorable – those moments when you feel like you’re actually living somewhere for a few days instead of just visiting.

Reviews of Ferienwohnung Zentrum – Albert
Schöne zentral gelegene Ferienwohnung – Nicola from Germany – August 2, 2025 (9/10)
Sehr gut ausgestattete Wohnung im Zentrum gegenüber einer Markthalle mit Café und allem was man braucht . Perfekt für unseren Dresden Trip.
Good – Melanie from Spain – December 27, 2024 (7/10)
Very clean, had the basics, very warm.
What could be improved: Noise from the neighbours was intolerable. Can’t be helped by the accommodation but anybody booking should be aware. We only stayed two nights it was enough.Close to center, but needs cleaning (Albert #3 apartments) – Alex from Czech Republic – July 10, 2024 (7/10)
1. Personnel is friendly, responsive and really helps.
2. Great location, just 15-20 minutes to walk to old town center with main sightseeings & museums.
3. Due to curtains/roller shutters it's possible to have almost 100% darkness in the bedrooms.
4. Rather silent – despite the road is close, it not disturbs.
5. There was no problem to pay in cash on arrival.
6. Remote control to unlock the doors looks progressive, but you still need to twist the locks.
What could be improved: 1. In description it's written "FREE ON-SIGHT PARKING", but it's not on-sight and it's not free. There're a lots of silent streets nearby with parking machines charging 6 euros (in coins) per parking day (for example at Oberer Kreuzweg 4).
2. It's a 1st floor, which is too close to ground level, ceilings are rather low too and with sometimes insufficient lights it looks a bit too dark inside.
3. It's not new – some small issues are here and there in furniture and in shower and in kitchen etc.
4. No washing machine.
5. No soap in the bathroom.
6. Lots of dust everywhere – on surfaces and on floors and on electric heater in bathroom.
I'd rate this apartments higher if it was just clean.Pleasant – Sandra from Germany – May 27, 2024 (6/10)
What could be improved: The flat did not match the expectations raised by the pictures. Providing more than just half a toilet paper roll for three people on a weekend stay would have also been appreciated, as perhaps some water upon arrival.
We can come back – Elisabetta from Italy – December 30, 2023 (8/10)
The street is near the city center
We enjoyed the silence
The kitchen is little but very functional
What could be improved: The windows on the sidewalk
The sofa bed isn’t comfortableThe apartment was one that made us say… „we could live here“. It was well designed. – Terrell from Germany – September 28, 2023 (10/10)
The property management sent detailed information about checking in and out, collecting the key, and where to put it at checkout. Also, the property was in walking distance to Altstadt, groceries, and Straßenbahn stops. This was a great location.
What could be improved: There was no microwave or oven in the kitchen, but I was told why and I understand the reasoning behind no microwave. The only other thing that we wish we had was that we wished the back door had a tilt function so that we could had better airflow through the apartment, or a fan would be nice.Very Good – Elisa from Italy – August 14, 2023 (8/10)
The flat is in a perfect position to visit Dresden, close to public transport and with restaurants and bars at a walking distance. We easily found a place to rent bikes and a public laundry.
The flat was clean and the kitchen quite well equipped. The host was flexible with the check-out, we had a small delay but this was not a problem.
What could be improved: It would be useful to explain a bit better how to reach the flat, it should be explicitly said that the car has to be parked "behind" the main building while the entrance of the flat is only from Albertstrasse, where there is no place for parking.
It is possible to park in the residential streets around the flat but it is not for free (as written in the website and in the guidelines available in the flat). It is quite convenient anyway (6 euro/day), but I think guests would appreciate to be informed in advance they have to pay the park ticket at the automatic parking meter (especially if they do not speak German).
But these are details, in general our stay was very nice!Clean apartment in quiet location a short walk from old town – Karen from United States – July 18, 2023 (10/10)
The apartment has two rooms plus kitchen and bath, The kitchen was well equipped including hotplates and kettle. Although I booked it as a double bed and double sofa, the property supplied an additional single bed so my kids did not have a share a bed. There is a small playground in the yard behind the apartment. The apartment is located very close to a grocery store. You can walk to old town via the pedestrian shopping street which made the walk very easy. I was worried about the street noise from other reviews, but it wasn't a problem.
What could be improved: It is a ground floor apartment, but has rolling shutters so that you can still have windows open.great location, easy communication, had everything we needed. wish wifi connectivity was more stable – Hans from United States – July 12, 2023 (8/10)
the location is perfect, close to everything for everyday life, transportation and going to old time, a little noisy since it's right by the street but with the highly insulating windows the noise isn't an issue.
What could be improved: the wifi had connectivity issues and wasn't stable. the place was a little dusty we had to vacuum it and wipe the surfaces on day 1.I love this place! – Marianna from Poland – December 19, 2022 (10/10)
Very big rooms and perfect location to visit Dresden – highly recommended!!!
What could be improved: Very good stay!
