Honestly, when I first pulled up to FeWo “Zum Napoleonstein” on Bergstraße, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name had me curious about some historical connection, and it turns out there actually is a Napoleon monument nearby that locals use as a hiking landmark. Pretty cool little piece of history tucked into this quiet corner of Schönfeld-Weißig, which is technically Dresden but feels worlds away from the tourist crowds downtown.

The apartment itself absolutely deserves that 9.8 rating – I mean, you don’t see numbers like that often, and now I get why. The owners clearly put thought into every detail, from the way the morning light filters through these perfectly positioned windows to the fact that they’ve got proper blackout curtains if you want to sleep in (which I definitely did). What struck me most was how it manages to feel both traditionally German and completely modern – you know what I mean? Like, there are these beautiful wooden beams and local touches, but then you’ve got fast WiFi and a kitchen that actually makes you want to cook instead of ordering takeout. The whole place smells faintly of pine and something I couldn’t quite place… maybe lavender from the little garden area?

Parking was surprisingly easy – there’s a designated spot that’s actually big enough for normal-sized cars, not like some places where you need to be a contortionist to get out. The check-in was refreshingly personal too; felt more like staying with friends who happen to be really good at hospitality rather than some sterile hotel process. Location-wise, you’re about a 20-minute drive from Dresden’s old town, but that’s actually perfect because you get the best of both worlds. During the day you can explore the Semperoper and all that history, then come back to this peaceful spot where the only sounds at night are maybe some owls and the occasional car heading home. I took a few evening walks through the neighborhood – lots of well-kept houses and gardens, the kind of area where people clearly take pride in their community. There’s even a decent hiking trail that starts basically from the front door if you’re into that sort of thing. Four stars feels right for the official rating, though it punches above its weight in terms of the experience you actually get.

  Diese Ferienwohnung ist sehr zu empfehlen,sie bietet allen Komfort ist sehr modern eingerichtet und hat alles was man braucht. Die Vermieter sind auch sehr nett. Die Lage ist auch gut ,man kommt mit Bus oder Straßenbahn sehr gut in Dresden rein. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Urlaub 👍

  Sehr schöne, saubere Wohnung und sehr nette Vermieter. Wir waren in den Herbstferien dort – Pool, Grill und Garten sind während der Sommermonate sicherlich ein weiteres Highlight! Bis zu Dresdner Innenstadt sind es mit dem Auto nur rd. 20 Minuten.

  Die Lage ist von daher gut, dass die Wohnung zwischen Dresden und dem Elbsandsteingebirge liegt. P+R in die Stadt ist gut möglich. Die Wohnung ist in einem relativ neuen und sehr gutem Zustand. Es gab viele und helle Beleuchtungsmöglichkeiten, also das, was häufig Ferienwohnungen nicht haben. Der Garten ist riesig und sehr gemütlich, hat sogar einen Pool. Folgendes hat uns auch sehr gefallen: Induktionsherd, sehr gute Dusche, viele Aufhängmöglichkeiten für Handtücher, verschiedene Handtuchfarben (bei vier Leuten ist es schon sehr praktisch, wenn nicht alle Handtücher weiß sind, wie häufig in Ferienwohnungen oder Hotels), zwei Schlüssel, Balkon, gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten trotz dörflichem Charakter
  
  What could be improved: Wer Rolläden oder Verdunklungsrollos gewöhnt ist, es also gewöhnt ist, es nachts sehr dunkel zu haben, der muss wissen, dass Verdunklungsplissees nicht die gleiche Dunkelheit schaffen und es morgens, wenn man lange Ausschlafen will, heller ist als gewohnt.
  Das eine Doppelbett war sehr gut. Die Ausziehcouch war hart, aber auszuhalten, wenn man den Topper vom Doppelbett darüberlegt.
  Ein Tablett hätten wir noch gebrauchen können. Vielleicht haben wir es nur nicht gefunden.
