Most people don’t even know Leuben exists (honestly, I had to look it up before my first visit), but that’s exactly what makes this spot so refreshing.

The apartment itself feels like staying at someone’s well-organized aunt’s place – everything’s clean and functional without being sterile. The kitchen actually has sharp knives and decent cookware, which, trust me, is rarer than you’d think in vacation rentals. I mean, the décor won’t win any design awards, but there’s something comforting about the mismatched furniture and local artwork on the walls. What really sold me was the view – you’re looking out over this quiet residential street with glimpses of the Elbe through the trees. In the mornings, you’ll hear kids heading to school and the occasional tram rumbling by on the main road, but it’s not disruptive at all.

Here’s the thing about staying in Leuben instead of Dresden’s city center – you’re getting this authentic slice of local life that most tourists completely miss. The ferry ride across to the old town takes maybe ten minutes, and it runs frequently enough that you don’t need to plan around it. Plus, parking is actually free on the street (good luck with that anywhere near the Altstadt). There’s a decent bakery about five minutes up the hill where the woman behind the counter will patiently help you with your terrible German, and a small grocery store that closes at reasonable hours. The host was pretty responsive when I had questions about the heating – replied within an hour or so, which is honestly better service than I’ve gotten at some fancy hotels. My only minor complaint? The shower pressure could be stronger, but the water gets properly hot and the bathroom’s recently renovated. If you’re looking for that perfect balance of being close enough to Dresden’s attractions but far enough away to feel like you’re living somewhere real rather than just passing through, this place nails it completely.

  Bäcker gegenüber wo man toll frühstücken kann. Lidl fast daneben, wenn man noch was benötigt. Straßenbahnhaltestelle gegenüber vom Bäcker normalerweise. Momentan leider Baustelle.

  Im Wohnzimmer wo Freund schlief Ventilator im Schlafzimmer leider keiner.
  Badewanne sehr rutschig bitte Badeaufkleber oder Matte wäre toll. Ansonsten einfach wohlfühlen. Echt toll, ja das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau.

  Die Wohnung befindet sich im 2. OG des Hauses, im gemütlichen Ortsteil Laubegast, mit guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zum Elberadweg sind es fußläufig 5 min, zu Einkehrmöglichkeiten ( Gasthäuser ) sind es ca. 10 / 12 min. In der Wohnung ist alles vorhanden, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigt.
  Mit dem ÖPNV gelangt man wohl gut ins Zentrum. Wir benötigten diesen nicht, da wir vorrangig mit den Rädern unterwegs gewesen sind.
  Bzgl. der Absprache zur An/Abreise hat seitens des Vermieters alles sehr gut funktioniert und dank eines Schlüsselkastens vor Ort, war der Zugang ebenfalls gut organisiert.

  Absolutely amazing, very comfortable with attention to every detail (available some basic foods in the kirchen, spices, tea and coffee, many toiletries and accessories, towels, fresh flowers in each room and even chocolate bars on the pillows!)
