Ferienapartements Girrbach Overview
You know what struck me first about Ferienapartements Girrbach? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Blasewitz where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic – which honestly caught me off guard for a city location. I mean, Dresden’s not huge, but still. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense German apartment feel, nothing fancy from the outside, but that 9.3 rating starts making sense once you’re inside.
The apartments are properly spacious – and I’m talking real space, not that cramped hotel room nonsense where you’re bumping into furniture. What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up. The kitchens actually work (shocking, I know), with decent-sized fridges and all the basics you need if you want to grab groceries from the little Edeka down the street instead of eating out every meal. The owners clearly live in the real world – there are proper coffee makers, not those tiny hotel pods, and enough towels that you don’t feel like you’re rationing them. Small thing, but the wifi actually reaches every corner of the place, which has saved me more than once when I needed to work from the little dining nook.
Being in Blasewitz is honestly perfect if you want that local Dresden experience without the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to walk to the Blaues Wunder bridge – that gorgeous blue steel thing that somehow survived the war – and from there it’s an easy stroll along the Elbe or a quick tram ride into the Altstadt when you want to do the palace and cathedral thing. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: the best part is just wandering the neighborhood streets, especially toward Schillerplatz where there’s this cluster of cafés that locals actually use. The tram stop is maybe a three-minute walk, and parking (if you’re driving) isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center.
Look, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble lobbies or turndown service – but that’s sort of the point. It feels like staying in a friend’s well-organized spare apartment, if your friend happened to be really good at hosting and lived in one of Dresden’s nicest residential areas. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and when the heating got a bit temperamental one evening, someone actually answered the phone and sorted it out within an hour. That 9.3 rating? Yeah, it tracks. This is the kind of place you book when you want to feel like you’re living in Dresden for a few days instead of just passing through it.
Dresden’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Saxon elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring classical music concierge services and traditional German hospitality.

Reviews of Ferienapartements Girrbach
A very pleasant stay with very friendly hosts and easy connections to city centre – Sandra from United Kingdom – July 13, 2025 (8/10)
A spacious apartment with plenty of supplies. Free coffee and tea were much appreciated. Host was very kind and made up the sofa bed for us to suit the needs of the group better.
Wonderful stay overall. 10 out of 10 would recommend. – Janett from United States – July 6, 2024 (10/10)
We enjoyed our stay a lot. The apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and in a really good location for us. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They showed us the apartment in detail and gave us great recommendations on restaurants in the area, even though we did run late for check-in due to traffic. They showed great care for their guests and we even had a little chocolate on our pillows.
What could be improved: We were well cared for and have absolutely nothing to dislike.Quiet area, well-equipped apartment – Bryn from Ethiopia – July 3, 2024 (9/10)
Very quiet area about 30 mins walk from the centre. Well-equipped kitchen including a washing machine. Helpful host.
Exceptional – Aleksandr from Germany – March 23, 2024 (10/10)
I loved how every little detail was thought through: any little thing you might need (e.g. washing machine pods, cleaning supplies, cooking tools, salt/sugar) is there and available to use for no extra charge.
What could be improved: The studio is somewhat smaller than it may seem from the photos, but not uncomfortably so. The price naturally matches the nicety.Wonderful – Karel from Czech Republic – March 2, 2024 (9/10)
Very good accommodation. Clean, quiet, close to traffic, comfortable beds, very good facilities – in fact we have never met such perfect kitchen facilities. Pleasant host.
What could be improved: rather weak and fluctuating wi-fi connection was the only problem of the accommodation.Exceptional – Krucrew from New Zealand – October 9, 2023 (10/10)
The apartment was fully kitted out with everything you need and more. The location is very convenient to a Penny supermarket and the tram stop is 5mins away. Our host was lovely and very helpful.

There was supply of tea and coffee and a fridge in the hall with beverages including non-alcoholic as well as wine, beer and prosecco. Was nice and cosy, perfectly fitting for one person for a night.
