You know what caught me off guard about the Dill Apartment? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street in Blasewitz that feels completely removed from typical tourist Dresden, but then you realize you’re literally a five-minute walk from the famous Blue Wonder bridge. I mean, when they say “am Blauen Wunder” in the name, they’re not kidding around – you can practically see the bridge’s distinctive steel arches from some of the windows.

The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense German apartment feel – think thick walls that actually block out street noise (which there isn’t much of on Hofmannstraße anyway) and radiators that’ll toast you properly in winter. It’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble lobbies or concierge service, but honestly, that’s part of what I liked about it. The apartments are genuinely livable spaces, not hotel rooms pretending to be apartments. The kitchens actually have proper-sized fridges and cooking equipment you’d use, plus there’s enough counter space to spread out if you’re staying for more than a couple nights. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that “we’ll give you a tour of amenities” nonsense since, well, it’s an apartment.

What really sold me on the location was discovering this whole Blasewitz neighborhood. It’s where actual Dresdeners live, so you’ve got proper bakeries and corner shops instead of tourist traps, but you’re still connected to everything. The 61 tram line runs pretty regularly and gets you to the Altstadt in maybe 15 minutes – I’d catch it right at Schillerplatz, which is basically around the corner. But here’s the thing: I found myself walking along the Elbe way more than taking trams because the river path from the Blue Wonder toward the city center is genuinely one of those unexpectedly beautiful routes. Morning joggers, dog walkers, the occasional river cruise boat – it’s got this peaceful rhythm that makes you feel less like a tourist rushing between sights. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be fancy. Sure, the WiFi occasionally hiccupped, and the shower pressure was adequate rather than amazing, but the apartment stayed quiet at night, the heating worked reliably, and there’s something satisfying about having your own front door key instead of a hotel card. Plus, if you’re traveling with kids or staying longer than a few days, having real living space instead of cramped hotel quarters makes a huge difference.

  Die Wohnung ist sehr schön in einem ruhigen Haus. Eine schöne Lage, Parkplätze an der Straße zur Genüge vorhanden. In Gehweite gibt es einen tollen Bäcker, einen Supermarkt und Haltestellen für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel. Die Elbe und der Radweg sind einmal über die Straße. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

  Die Lage ist perfekt, wenn man an die Elbe will (Elberadweg). Auch in die Innenstadt ist man per Straßenbahn sehr schnell. Der Supermarkt ist auch gleich um die Ecke.
  Die Wohnung ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Sie ist gut geschnitten und ruhig.
  
  What could be improved: Die Möbel sind leider schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Besonders das Bett im Wohnzimmer.
  Ich würde mir auch ein kurzes Infoblatt mit allen wichtigen Daten (z.B. Wlan, Mülltrennung) wünschen.

  Die Wohnung ist sehr großzügig und gut geschnitten. Es war, bis auf Duschtücher alles vorhanden und nach Reinigung auch nutzbar
  Die Lage ist super, gute Anbindung und trotzdem ruhig. Die Elbe war in wenigen Gehminuten zu erreichen. Es gibt sogar einen Schiffanleger in der Nähe.
  
  What could be improved: Der Wohnung würde eine Grundreinigung gut tun. Vielleicht war das wegen unserer kurzfristigen Buchung nicht mehr möglich? Duschtücher sollten vorhanden sein.
