Cosel Palais Appartement Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Cosel Palais Appartement on Österreicher Straße, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in Leuben. I mean, you’re technically still in Dresden but it’s way out from the tourist chaos of Altstadt, which actually turned out to be exactly what I needed. The building itself has this understated elegance that sneaks up on you – it’s not flashy, but there’s something genuinely refined about the way they’ve restored this place.
What really got me was how quiet it is here, especially compared to staying anywhere near the Frauenkirche where you’ve got tour groups starting at dawn. Leuben still feels like actual Dresden residents live there, you know? You can walk to the Elbe in about ten minutes, and honestly, that stretch of the river is way more peaceful than the crowded bits downtown. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I had this moment when I opened the door where I actually said “oh wow” out loud, which doesn’t happen often with hotel rooms. Everything feels thoughtfully put together rather than just functional. The kitchen area actually works (novel concept, right?), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains that’ll save you if you’re dealing with jet lag.
Here’s what I really appreciate though – the staff genuinely seems to care about the place. Check-in was smooth, no weird bureaucratic nonsense, and when I asked about getting to the city center, they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map. They actually explained the tram situation (line 2 gets you there in about 20 minutes) and mentioned which stops to avoid during rush hour. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which if you’ve tried to park anywhere in Dresden’s center, you’ll understand why that’s worth mentioning. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places that just gets the basics really, really right without trying to oversell you on amenities you don’t need. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Semperoper, but honestly? After spending days walking around Dresden’s tourist attractions, coming back to this quiet corner of Leuben felt like finding a secret. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that locals might actually choose rather than just another hotel that exists purely for people passing through.
Best hotels in Dresden range from charming boutique properties near the Frauenkirche to elegant riverside accommodations with stunning views of the baroque skyline and Elbe River.

Reviews of Cosel Palais Appartement
Exceptional – Ewa from Poland – August 6, 2025 (10/10)
Bardzo duży i wygodny apartament. W kuchni niczego nie brakowało. Czysto. Jedyny malutki minus to dojazd do centrum, utrudnienia spowodowane robotami drogowymi. Ale i tak jestem bardzo zadowolona z pobytu.
Schönes und geräumiges Apartment – Katharina from Germany – August 4, 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful Apartment in Dresden – Laubegast in historical building – Hansiboy from Germany – July 22, 2025 (9/10)

Die Einrichtung der Zimmer ist sehr geschmackvoll und passend zur Location.
Very Good – Alex from Israel – October 6, 2024 (8/10)
Convenient and quiet location, parking availability, next to a tram station, convenient facilities, cleanliness, host responsiveness to our requests.
What could be improved: Heating didn't work as it should. There are steep stairs for heavy suitcases even for the first floor (no elevator in the house).Great place, great location. – Marlen from South Africa – May 11, 2023 (9/10)
Basically everything. Great accommodation. Love the style and space. Located in close proximity to the river Elbe and the cosy waterfront of Laubegast. Close to tram station, short direct trip into the old part of the inner city. Two supermarkets in walking distance. Lots of windows and light. Lovely spacious apartment that has everything one needs. Check-in and Check-out went well, very convenient.
What could be improved: Nothing really.Exceptional – Klaudia from Netherlands – April 29, 2023 (10/10)

What could be improved: Wrong adresse, Street number, should be 39, next to Domino PizzaPoor – Vladimir from Serbia – November 25, 2022 (3/10)
It says the price is 65eur, but then they charged me 45eur for cleaning fee! almost double the price.
Im shocked, unbelievable. you hide the true price for your accomodation, hiding behind the cleaning fee. really not fair. i am very sad, its a really nice place, but this hidden costs are really not ok!
