You know what struck me first about Cosy Home? The name actually fits – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with hotels. This little 3-star spot sits on Wilhelm-Franke-Straße in Dresden’s Prohlis district, and while Prohlis might not ring bells for most tourists, that’s exactly why I ended up loving it here.

The area feels properly residential, which means you’re getting a slice of how locals actually live instead of that tourist bubble thing. I mean, you’re about 20 minutes by tram from Dresden’s Old Town (the 1 and 2 lines run pretty regularly), but honestly? Sometimes it was nice to come back to somewhere that felt less… performed, if that makes sense. The street itself is quiet – mostly apartment buildings and small shops where people actually do their grocery shopping instead of buying overpriced souvenirs. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible Stollen, and the woman who runs it remembered my order after day two, which sort of tells you everything about the neighborhood vibe.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed that 9.4 rating without trying too hard. The rooms are clean and comfortable – not fancy, but everything works and the beds are actually good (I’m picky about mattresses after too many hotel disasters). The heating was solid during my March stay, which matters more than you’d think in Dresden that time of year. Parking was easy and free, which saved me the headache of navigating Dresden’s city center with a rental car. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no upselling, no twenty-minute speech about amenities, just friendly efficiency from staff who seemed genuinely happy to be there. The breakfast was simple but fresh, with decent coffee and local touches that made it feel less generic than most hotel spreads.

Here’s the thing though – if you’re the type who needs to be stumbling distance from major attractions, this might not be your spot. But if you want to experience Dresden like someone who actually lives there, while still having easy access to all the tourist stuff when you want it, Cosy Home hits that sweet spot perfectly. The value is honestly hard to beat, especially considering how much you’d pay for something half as nice in the Altstadt area.

  Стильне, просторе, затишне помешкання. Ми були на машині, тому не можемо оцінити чи зручно добиратись міським транспортом. Помешкання на 3-му поверсі котеджу. Підніматися дерев'яними сходами, тож будьте готові нести багаж. Для нас це не було проблемою. Гарні види з вікна. Самостійне легке заселення. Кухня повністю укомплектована. Чай, кава, багато посуду. Нам сподобалось. Повернемось ще.

  Die Ferienwohnung ist super toll ausgestatteten, man fühlt sich wie zu Hause und uns hat es an nichts gefehlt.
  Auch wenn wir die Vermieter nicht persönlich angetroffen haben, super netter Kontakt vorm Check in und dem Check out. Und wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder. Haben schon einige Ferienwohnungen getestet und diese ist definitiv unser Favorit.
  
  What could be improved: Gibt es nicht, aber auch garnichts zu beanstanden.

  Wohnung, Lage und Eigentümer lassen keine Wünsche offen. Es handelt sich um eine sehr schöne und sehr gut ausgestattete Wohnung, die mit allem ausgestattet ist, was man für einen Urlaub braucht.
  Der Bus fährt durch bis ins Stadtzentrum, meist im 10 Minuten Takt, und das direkt vor der Haustür. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nur 2 Stationen mit dem Bus entfernen oder sogar zu Fuß möglich.
  Die Besitzer der Wohnung sind sehr hilfsbereit und äußerst gastfreundlich. Während unseres Aufenthalts haben sie z.B. auch Klavier gespielt und das Haus angenehm beschallt und wir haben durch die geöffnete Tür zuhören können. Ich kann jedem Pärchen ein Besuch nur wärmstens empfehlen.
  
  What could be improved: Das Inserat ist bei der Auflistung über die Ausstattung der Wohnung nicht sehr ausführlich. Ein Bild der Küche fehlt leider und dass die Wohnung mit so Sachen wie einem Fön ausgestattet ist, könnten wir aus der Anzeige nicht entnehmen.
  
  Wir haben uns allerdings an die Eigentümer gewandt und die haben uns letzteres auch beantwortet. Also das ist ein Verbesserungsvorschlag auf hohem Niveau und soll unseren tollen Eindruck in keinster Weise schmälern.
