City Flair Overview
You know what struck me first about City Flair? The name actually makes sense – which is rare for hotels, honestly. It’s tucked into this quiet residential stretch of Behringstraße in Dresden’s Altstadt, and there’s something genuinely urban-chic about the whole setup without trying too hard. I mean, you’re literally staying in the historic center, but it doesn’t feel touristy or sterile like some of those big chain places near the Frauenkirche. The building itself has that understated German efficiency thing going on – clean lines, good bones, nothing flashy but everything just… works.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know Dresden, not just the hotel. When I asked about getting to the Elbe riverfront (it’s maybe a 10-minute walk, by the way), the guy at reception started talking about which path to take if you want to avoid the tour groups, and mentioned this little café that locals hit up for Sunday brunch. That kind of insider knowledge you can’t fake. The rooms are solid 3-star territory – not huge, but thoughtfully laid out with decent storage and surprisingly good soundproofing considering you’re in the city center. I was worried about street noise, but honestly, Behringstraße is pretty mellow most of the time. The beds are firm (very German of them) and the bathrooms are modern without being show-offy. Actually, the shower pressure was excellent, which – let’s be real – matters more than fancy marble countertops.
Here’s what I really appreciated though: City Flair feels like it knows exactly what it is. It’s not pretending to be a luxury palace or a boutique design hotel. It’s a well-run, comfortable place that gets the details right and doesn’t waste your time with unnecessary frills. The breakfast spread was solid – proper German bread, good coffee, local honey – and served until a reasonable hour so you don’t have to set an alarm on vacation. Parking was straightforward (there’s a garage nearby if you need it), check-in was smooth, and when the elevator made a weird noise one evening, they had someone looking at it the next morning. Small things, but they add up. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned to explore Dresden on foot – the Zwinger is maybe 15 minutes away, the Christmas market in winter is walkable, and you can easily duck back to the hotel if you need to regroup without it being a whole expedition. For the price point and that 8.8 rating, it totally delivers on being exactly what a good city hotel should be.
Hotel in Dresden booking should be done early, especially during opera season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed performances at the famous Semperoper.

Exceptional – Kuzniatsou from Germany – February 20, 2025 (10/10)
We loved the sun-filled apartment and easy connection to the center
Exceptional – Vitrenko from Germany – January 31, 2025 (10/10)
Good apartment with convenient location. Ideal place for two people
Room for minor improvements, but a great choice when staying in Dresden! – Reinhold from Germany – May 20, 2024 (8/10)
Close to Metro station
Very clean and tidy
Lots of amneties in the apt and nearby
Comfortable bed
Very spacious
Simple check-in
Overall a really good accommodation!
What could be improved: The following points are imo room for improvement:
The sealing of the splash protection in the shower is not good enough – had water running under it
No toiletries at all, lucky I brought some (and grocery stores are nearby)
Despite paying 150€/night (discounted through genius) I had to remove the bed covers myself and had to bring trash out myself according to the manual… not a big deal, but also not ideal.Exceptional – Stanislava from Slovenia – May 28, 2023 (10/10)
Very nice apartment with all that you need, just as on the pictures. It is near tram station and markets so you can reach beautifull town every time you need.
Little gem within city limits – Laird&lady from Australia – May 4, 2023 (9/10)
The apartment was very well equipped and while we didn't need to use that much it was still good knowing that it was available, parking was available for my needs as disabled spots directly out of door entry.
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike about the property.Enjoyable Weekend Stay – Robert from Poland – April 2, 2023 (9/10)
We really enjoyed our two-night stay at the apartment. Very helpful and responsive owners, the apartment itself was well equipped with all necessary facilities at hand. The apartment located just seconds away from the tram station – you can take the tram number 2 and reach the heart of downtown in max 10 minutes.
3 nights in Dresden – Peter from Australia – December 19, 2022 (10/10)
Fantastic apartment with a very well stocked kitchen, bathroom and washing machine. Easy access to trams and close to a main train station. Supermarkets also very close by.
What could be improved: nothing.Great location and spacious fully equipped apartment – Giedre from Lithuania – November 2, 2022 (7/10)
There are many stores near, also highways are close so you are not stuck getting there or getting out there.
It is around 2,3km from city center – about 30
minutes walk.
TV has internet which is not always expected in rental flats – big plus!
Apartment is spacious and in calm neighborhood. Also little balcony is nice. Apartment lighting is poor though, there are no suitable place to read with enough light (maybe only kitchen table).
Kitchen is well equipped – you can find anything that you need.
What could be improved: Why to add parking next to this place as addition, when it is not always possible to find it near apartment. First evening when we arrived we were driving around all neighborhood for about 20-30 minutes to find spot to park. Luckily one car left it’s spot and we found parking.
Please change the fabric softener that you use. It doesn’t smell nice. It is even better not to use any scent rather than having not a pleasant smell.
The candles left in the candle holder where almost empty. If that is the detail of interior – you should leave new candles to add when existing ones are used or change them to new ones.Great stay in a great apartment in a fantastic city – John from United Kingdom – October 27, 2022 (10/10)
Bright, clean, cool, urban. Very comfortable. Great location for local trams – into heart of Dresden in a few stops. three supermarkets in walking distance. Good free parking on the streets. Best of all : good contact with the owner, and clear information at the property. Would definitely stay there again.
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike.
