grosszügiges Apartment mit Blick zur Frauenkirche Overview
So I stumbled across this apartment on Rosmaringasse completely by accident – I was actually looking for something else entirely – and honestly? Best travel mistake I’ve made in years. The name basically translates to “spacious apartment with a view of the Frauenkirche,” which sounds like typical German understatement until you actually walk in and see that baroque dome dominating your window view. I mean, you’re literally looking at one of Dresden’s most famous landmarks from your breakfast table.
The location is pretty incredible if you know Dresden at all. Rosmaringasse is this narrow cobblestone street right in the heart of Altstadt (Old Town), and you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the Zwinger Palace. The thing is, despite being so central, it’s surprisingly quiet – these old buildings have thick walls, and the street doesn’t get much through traffic since it’s sort of tucked away. I stayed there in July, which is peak tourist season, and I could still sleep with the windows open without being woken up by drunk groups wandering back from the Neustadt bars across the river. The apartment itself is genuinely spacious – Germans don’t throw around the word “grosszügig” lightly – with high ceilings that make everything feel even bigger. What really got me was the attention to detail… there’s this beautiful old parquet flooring that creaks just slightly when you walk (in a charming way, not annoying), and the furniture strikes that perfect balance between antique character and actual comfort. You know how some historic places make you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum? This isn’t that. The kitchen is fully equipped too, which matters because there’s a great little market on Hauptstraße where you can grab fresh bread and local cheese.
The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places where everything just works without you having to think about it. Check-in was smooth (they actually met me at the apartment, which was way more convenient than trekking to some hotel desk), and when I had a question about local transport, they responded within an hour with detailed directions. The only tiny downside, if I’m being completely honest, is that the shower pressure could be better – but that’s pretty typical for older buildings in this part of Dresden, and honestly, when you’re waking up to that Frauenkirche view every morning, you sort of forget about minor stuff like that. If you’re the type who needs to be right in the thick of things but still wants to feel like you’re living like a local rather than just passing through, this place hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Exceptional – Miodrag from Norway – July 21, 2025 (10/10)
Everything with an apartment to do but there is something very strange with people in this city who didn't want to give a glass of water to a baby before we buy one ! This is why Europe will fall down sooner than expected ! People do not respect families, and when you dont want to give a glass of water to a human specialy to baby, that's the biggest sin to the God whenever you are beliver or not ! Dead atmosfere, which is good only for single people and selfish egocentrics, is something I will take with me from Dresden! Devil took over this city and people whenever you want to admit that or not ! Shame shame, shame, big shame ! Never again i will visit and leave my money and time to this people! Remember one thing is that it's not the city it's the people who represent the city to look good ! Shame !

What could be improved: Carefully choose a place with AC and the room detail description has AC. Detail room confirmation has AC but actual doesnt. Not even a fan. Host said its just general description and refuse to allow cancel and tell me to go find different place at 10pm. Have to drive more than an hour to next town to find a hotel that still open and has AC.Exceptional – Dirk from Germany – June 3, 2023 (10/10)
