This place sits right in Dresden’s Altstadt, literally a stone’s throw from the Frauenkirche, and I mean that literally – I could hear the church bells from my window every morning around 8am (fair warning if you’re not an early riser).

The studio itself feels like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place. It’s got this modern minimalist thing going on, but with little baroque touches that actually work – not the over-the-top gilded nonsense you’d expect. The space is compact but cleverly designed, with a kitchenette that’s actually functional (I made proper coffee, not just instant stuff) and a bathroom that somehow feels spacious despite being, well, not spacious at all. What really got me was the attention to small details – decent lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and blackout curtains that actually block light. The building itself has some character too, with these old wooden stairs that creak just enough to feel authentic without being annoying.

Location-wise, you’re basically in the heart of everything that matters in Dresden. The Semperoper is maybe a five-minute walk, and you can easily stroll to the Zwinger Palace for your morning coffee (there’s a little café on Theaterplatz that locals hit up – skip the touristy spots right by the entrance). Parking can be a bit of a nightmare in this area, but there’s a garage on Wilsdruffer Straße that’s not too far if you’re driving. The tram stops at Altmarkt are close enough that getting around the city is dead simple. I actually loved wandering the narrow cobblestone streets at night – they’re well-lit and feel safe, plus you get this whole medieval atmosphere without the crowds. One thing to note: this area can get pretty lively on weekend evenings, especially during festival season, but the windows do a decent job keeping the noise manageable. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight – that 9 rating makes total sense when you factor in the location, the thoughtful design, and honestly, just how smoothly everything works. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Dresden rather than just visiting it.

  Een heerlijk appartement, kraaknet, ruim, modern en zeer comfortabel ingericht, in volle centrum. Prima bedden. Goede wifi. Ruime badkamer, goed ingerichte keuken waar je alles kan koken wat je maar wenst. Bakker vlakbij en om de hoek een prachtig marktplein vol met terrasjes en restaurantjes. Even de straat oversteken en je kan heerlijk wandelen langs de Elbe. Dresden is een heerlijke gezellige stad met prachtige musea en leuke boottochtjes op de Elbe.
