Apartmenthaus Sternstraße Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Apartmenthaus Sternstraße, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Pieschen, and you know what? That actually turned out to be one of its best features. The whole area feels properly residential, like you’re staying where actual Dresdeners live rather than in some touristy bubble.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly well-thought-out for a 3-star place. I mean, you’re not getting luxury here, but everything works and it’s genuinely clean – which honestly matters more than fancy marble countertops when you’re hauling luggage around after a long travel day. The kitchenette situation is actually decent too, with enough space to make proper coffee in the morning (thank god) and maybe heat up some of those excellent pastries from the bakery that’s maybe a five-minute walk down the street. The wi-fi held up fine for video calls, which… well, let’s just say that’s not always guaranteed in apartment-style places.

What really sold me on this spot was how easy it made exploring Dresden without dealing with the city center chaos. You’re about fifteen minutes by tram to the Altstadt – and the tram stop is literally around the corner, which saved my feet more than once. Pieschen itself has this laid-back vibe that I wasn’t expecting; there’s a decent Turkish restaurant nearby (the döner is legit), and you can actually find parking on the street most of the time, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will tell you is basically a miracle. The neighborhood gets properly quiet after about 10 PM, so if you’re someone who needs actual silence to sleep, this works. That 8.3 rating makes sense once you realize it’s not trying to be something it isn’t – it’s just a solid, no-nonsense base that lets you live like a local for a few days. Perfect if you want to see Dresden without paying tourist-district prices or dealing with hotel breakfast crowds every morning.

Best hotels in Dresden range from charming boutique properties near the Frauenkirche to elegant riverside accommodations with stunning views of the baroque skyline and Elbe River.

Reviews of Apartmenthaus Sternstraße

  • I really like it. Good for stay. – Natalia from Ukraine – March 14, 2025 (9/10)

    Where comfortable, clean, nice equipped

What could be improved: lack of wine glasses and corkscrews

  • Spacious and clean – Hendra from United States – September 8, 2024 (8/10)

Spacious with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining area and entryway. No elevator, staircases to access unit. Has 2 spots for parking, washing machine (you need to provide your own laundry detergent) and drying rack.
    Grocery store and bakery nearby.

What could be improved: The bathtubs had no shower curtains to prevent water from splashing to the floor.
No AC which we knew, it was a little hot during the day even with windows open as there were no fans provided.
No sponge to wash dishes and no paper towel in kitchen so we ended up buying some from nearby grocery store, could probably have asked for it but needed to buy grocery anyway.

  • Very Good – Hendrien from Germany – July 8, 2024 (8/10)

The apartment was well-equipped. Great kitchen. Good quality towels.

What could be improved: The linen was clean but needed to be replaced as it had holes in it.

  • Wonderful – Karyn from New Zealand – December 27, 2023 (9/10)

Great apartment with plenty if space. Very warm. Great location. Tram and bus stop just down the road that will take you anywhere.

What could be improved: The apartment was advertised with 2 single beds in the third bedroom – but it was a double bed. Not ideal for us without our family group.

  • The perfect place for exploring Dresden. – Alexandra from Norway – October 27, 2023 (8/10)

Excellent location close to a grocery shop, bakery and several restaurants. The tram to the city center was a two minute walk away. The appartment was clean and comfortable.

What could be improved: The internet was non-existent so we had to use our own hotspots. The key was not to be found in the appartment key box on arrival so we had to call the company running the appartments and sort out an alternative key box.

  • Wonderful – Jikashvili from Georgia – September 26, 2023 (9/10)

I liked everything. The apartment is the best, it's perfectly clean. It's located in the suburb, but close to the city center. I'm very satisfied.

  • Very Good – Kim-thoa from United States – September 21, 2023 (8/10)

    The room is clean, neat

What could be improved: – The internet doesn’t work at all.
    – the bathroom mirror too high for petite people

  • Good – Renata from Australia – September 19, 2023 (7/10)

Place was clean and staff were responsive

What could be improved: Awkwardly laid out apartment and a shower curtain would be a good addition to the bathroom

  • Wonderful – Young from Denmark – July 4, 2023 (9/10)

Location is great and also parking was easy

What could be improved: Beds are a bit too soft.

  • Wonderful – Walter from Canada – May 15, 2023 (9/10)

Spacious renovated apartment. City centre easily reachable by car, tram or a nice walk along the river Elbe.
