You know what struck me first about Das kleine Liesl? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it really does feel like someone’s charming little place rather than a proper hotel. I mean, the address literally says “Wohnung 25” (apartment 25), so you’re basically staying in what feels like a thoughtfully converted flat on Louisenstraße. The building itself has that classic Dresden character – you’ll probably walk past it twice before realizing you’ve found it, honestly. But that’s part of the charm. The entrance isn’t flashy or obvious, which I actually appreciated after dealing with the tourist crowds around the Frauenkirche earlier that day.

What really won me over was how the owners – and I’m pretty sure it’s still family-run – have managed to nail that sweet spot between local authenticity and actual comfort. The apartment setup means you get way more space than your typical Dresden hotel room, and there’s this lived-in coziness that makes you feel like you’re staying with particularly house-proud German relatives. The kitchen area was surprisingly well-equipped (I managed decent coffee, which is saying something), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly. Small thing, but you notice these details when you’ve been walking around Neustadt all day. Speaking of Neustadt – and this is where location really matters – you’re right in the thick of the artsy, slightly bohemian part of Dresden. Louisenstraße puts you maybe a ten-minute walk from Hauptstraße where all the cool bars and vintage shops are, but far enough that you’re not dealing with weekend noise from the party crowd. I could hear some street activity during the day, but nothing that kept me up at night.

The 8.8 rating honestly feels about right – it’s not perfect (the Wi-Fi was a bit temperamental, and check-in required some coordination since there’s no 24-hour desk), but it delivers on what matters. You’re getting genuine Dresden neighborhood life without sacrificing comfort, and the price point makes way more sense than those sterile chain places near the Altstadt. If you’re the type who’d rather grab bread from a local bakery than eat hotel breakfast, and you don’t mind feeling like a temporary local rather than a pampered tourist, Das kleine Liesl works really well. Just remember to confirm your arrival time – I learned that the hard way when I showed up assuming someone would just be there.

  Super Kontakt! Super Lage! Der Check-in erfolgte problemlos über eine Schlüsselbox, auch die Infos zur Wohnung und Parksituation waren sehr detailliert. Ein früherer Check-in war auch gar kein Problem. Kleines, sehr schönes Apartment mit Balkon mitten in der Neustadt und wirklich absolut super ausgestattet ist. Es hat wirklich gar nichts gefehlt. Wir konnten im Innenhof parken. Vor der Tür befinden sich viele köstliche Restaurants, kultige Bars und Läden. Alles Sehenswerte, wie der historische Kern der Stadt, ist zu Fuß erreichbar.
  Im Kühlschrank erwartete uns eine kleine süße Überraschung 😉

  We really enjoyed the apartment — it was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The location is excellent, with everything you need close by. The interior is well thought out: comfortable furniture, high-quality bed linens, and good appliances. Our stay was very comfortable, and we felt right at home.
  
  There was a small misunderstanding with the host at the beginning, but it was quickly resolved — we appreciated that the host was willing to communicate and sort things out. In the end, we were left with only positive impressions. Thank you for the hospitality, we definitely recommend it!

  Great location, cosy apartment with everything needed for a quick stopover in Dresden whilst on a road trip. Very clean and easy to find. Host/owner very nice and easily contactable.
  
  What could be improved: Bed could have been a little more comfortable but wasn't too bad at all. Parking area was easy to find but a woman from an adjacent apartment approached my wife and told her we could not park there (later clarified with the host via telephone and all was okay) but she saw the non-german plates on the car and assumed we were just trying to find any parking whatsoever in the city.

  Very good location, cozy and clean apartment. 15 minutes walk to the center, many restaurants, bars and cafes near the apartment. Good contact with the owner, clear instructions on collecting the keys. A big advantage is a private parking space.
