Amedia Plaza Dresden, Trademark Collection by Wyndham Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the Amedia Plaza Dresden? Walking up to Juedenhof 9, I was expecting another generic business hotel – but honestly, this place has some serious character. The building itself sits right in the heart of Altstadt, and I mean *right* in it. You’re basically a three-minute walk from the Frauenkirche, which is pretty incredible when you realize most hotels with this kind of location either cost a fortune or feel like tourist traps.
The lobby has this modern-meets-historic vibe that actually works – I’ve seen plenty of places try this and fail miserably. Here though, they’ve managed to keep things sleek without losing the sense that you’re staying somewhere with real history. The staff at check-in knew their stuff too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. They pointed out a couple local spots I never would’ve found otherwise, including this fantastic little café on Münzgasse that doesn’t show up in guidebooks. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable, well-designed. Nothing revolutionary, but the beds are actually good (firm enough without being rocks), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure. I appreciated the little touches like proper blackout curtains – Dresden can get pretty bright during summer evenings, so that matters more than you’d think.
What really sold me on this place though is how it handles the whole “tourist location” thing. Yeah, you’re surrounded by sightseeing crowds during the day, but Juedenhof itself is tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant street noise. I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something for a city center hotel. The area gets surprisingly quiet after about 9 PM too – all the day-trippers head back to their buses or cruise ships, and you’re left with this almost intimate version of old Dresden. Walking back from dinner, passing the illuminated church domes and baroque facades… I mean, there are worse ways to end an evening. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving – the hotel doesn’t have its own garage, but there’s a decent public one about two blocks away on Wilsdruffer Straße. Not ideal, but manageable, and honestly you won’t need your car much once you’re settled in. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and the tram connections are solid if you want to venture further out. For what it’s worth, the 8.5 rating feels about right – this isn’t going to be the most memorable hotel you’ve ever stayed in, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you genuine access to one of Germany’s most beautiful historic centers. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Dresden’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Saxon elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring classical music concierge services and traditional German hospitality.

Quality at a budget price. – John from Australia – August 1, 2025 (9/10)
Right in the middle of the old town with views of the square and the Frauenkirche.
5 minute walk from the tram stop and close to a large shopping centre with a good food court.
The breakfast is in the adjoining Vapiano and was the best we’ve had all trip. Nice ambience amazing selection with view of the square.Very Good – Longstreth from United States – July 31, 2025 (8/10)
Staff was helpful during our stay.
What could be improved: A package came for me after I left. Instead of sending it on, they refused it. I probably won't be able to recover the contents. The hotel was excellent & the staff were very helpful – James from United States – July 2, 2025 (9/10)
The staff was helpful and pleasant. The canvas on the upper part of my shoe developed a small hole & they had a sewing kit which patched it up perfectly. They were also helpful in providing me with some ice from their bar so I could ice down a warm bottle of Cola I got at a local store. The location was central to the old part of town but quiet and peaceful.
What could be improved: I can't think of anything negative about this hotel. I'd happily stay here again.Very good stay at Amedia Plaza, near all the attractions – Hennie from South Africa – July 1, 2025 (10/10)

Great location on main Altstadt square.
Spotlessly clean and large rooms with high ceilings. Good price for rooms.
What could be improved: Leaky shower doors. Breakfast poor and very expensive. We enjoyed our stay in a well managed hotel in a superb location – Mikhail from Canada – April 9, 2025 (8/10)
The only thing missing was a fridge. All the rest was great. Unbeatable location, spacious rooms. Excellent management. There was a hotel-wide issue with WiFi and room keys. I admired the management for addressing that issue with honest professionalism. Highly recommended
