The owner – and I’m pretty sure they live in the same building – has turned part of this older suburban house into what feels more like staying with a well-traveled friend than booking random accommodation. The neighborhood honestly reminded me of those quiet residential streets you stumble across in German cities where locals actually live, not just tourists passing through. Cotta isn’t exactly downtown Dresden, but that’s sort of the point. You’re maybe fifteen minutes by tram to the old town, and there’s something refreshing about coming back to a tree-lined street where the biggest evening excitement is someone walking their dog.

The apartment itself – they call it “Traumzeit” which basically means dream time, and honestly, that’s not just marketing fluff. The balcony overlooks this little garden area, and if you’re there in late spring or summer, you’ll probably end up having your morning coffee out there longer than planned. Inside, everything feels deliberately chosen rather than just furnished from some bulk supplier. The kitchen actually works (I mean, you can cook real meals, not just heat up leftovers), and whoever set this place up clearly travels themselves because all the small details are there – good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, that kind of thing. The whole space has this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually find in short-term rentals. Sure, it’s not luxury hotel fancy, but it’s three stars that feel more thoughtful than some four-star places I’ve stayed.

What really sold me on this place was how quiet it gets at night – and I’m someone who usually brings earplugs everywhere. You’re in a proper residential area, so no drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM, but you’re not isolated either. There’s a little bakery about three blocks down that locals line up at on Sunday mornings, and the whole area has this feeling of actual Dresden life happening around you. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s one of those places where everything just works without drama. Check-in was smooth (they actually showed me around instead of just handing over keys), and when I had a question about the best way to get to Neustadt, they gave me the kind of local advice that saves you both time and money. If you want to experience Dresden like you’re temporarily living there rather than just visiting, this is exactly the kind of place that makes that happen.

  Mein erster nicht-kontaktlose Unterkunft und gleich tolle Erfahrung gemacht. Der Gastgeber ist super nett und hilfsbereit. So eine tolle Anleitung (Tipps zu Restaurants, Wanderungen, aber auch Infos zu Themen wie Apotheke in der Nähe) wünsche ich in jeder Unterkunft, richtig klasse! Super bequeme Betten, es hat absolut nichts an der Ausstattung gefehlt, ruhige Lage auch nachts, toller Blick aus dem Balkon. Alles super sauber. Ja, die Lage der Dusche mag seltsam sein, wir fanden dies jedoch nicht schlimm.

  Ich schließe mich den Vorrednern an. Die Wohnung war super, alles (wie) neu. Man kann nichts bemängeln. Selten so eine gute Ferienwohnung gesehen. Mit vorab Mailabsprache war der Vermieter bei der Ankunft anwesend und hat uns nebst Schlüsselübergabe und Erklärungen zur Wohnung weitere Tipps zum Sightseeing in der Umgegend gegeben. Volle Punktzahl, mehr geht nicht.
  Die Wohnung liegt im 2. Stock unter dem isolierten Dach. Dafür hat man auf der kleinen Terrasse/Balkon eine schöne Aussicht, auch auf einen Teil von Dresden. Frühstück oder Essen draußen ist daher was sehr angenehmes. Die Wohngegend ist sehr ruhig und einen Parkplatz findet man immer irgendwo entlang der Straße. Mal direkt vor dem Haus, mal 1-2 Häuser weiter, je nach dem, wann man kommt. Wenn wir wieder nach Dresden kommen werden wir hier definitiv wieder buchen.

  Die Lage der Ferienwohnung im Obergeschoß erlaubt einen sehr schönen Blick vom Balkon auf die Umgebung. Die Einrichtung ist sehr hochwertig und trägt super zur Entspannung bei. Hinweise zur Umgebung und Ereignissen sind vielfältig vom Gastgeber zusammengestellt.

  Extremely neat loft with high quality furnishings. Fully equipped kitchen, balcony with a nice view. Peaceful and quiet at night, lots of space for parking on the street.

  The Owner greeted us, showed us the entire apartment including a folder with good hints which he created himself in a very professional manner. Everything was available. Even coffee, tea and sugar. The apartment is newly renovated and very quiet! One is reaching downtown Dresden e.g. Semper Oper Parking (which is one of the cheapest imho) within 12min.
  
  What could be improved: The second bed is close to the stairs, which for a kid could be a bit dangerous, as there is also no guard on the side.
