Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Dresden apartments over the years, but this place on Palaisplatz genuinely surprised me. When I first walked into this 90-square-meter ground floor unit, I actually stopped in the doorway for a second – it’s one of those moments where the photos somehow undersold the reality. The space has this effortless modern vibe without feeling cold or sterile, you know? The kind of design where someone clearly thought about how people actually live, not just how rooms photograph. And honestly, that 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’re inside.

The location is what really gets me though. Palaisplatz sits right in Dresden’s Neustadt district, which – if you haven’t been – is basically where all the interesting stuff happens without the tourist chaos of the old town. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Hauptstraße with its cafes and vintage shops, but the actual street stays surprisingly quiet, especially at night. I mean, you get the energy of the neighborhood without the noise bleeding into your sleep, which is pretty rare in city centers. The Japanese Palace is practically next door (hence the “Palais” in the street name), and you can cut through the palace grounds to reach the Elbe riverfront in maybe five minutes. There’s something almost unfair about having that kind of access while staying in what feels like a residential pocket.

What I really appreciated were the thoughtful touches that most short-term rentals completely miss. The kitchen actually has proper knives and decent cookware – not the usual collection of mismatched utensils that can barely open a wine bottle. The shower pressure is excellent, which sounds trivial until you’ve spent a week somewhere with disappointing water flow. And the WiFi genuinely works throughout the entire apartment, even in that back bedroom. Small things, but they add up when you’re trying to settle in somewhere for more than just a night. The ground floor location worried me initially because of potential noise, but the windows face the courtyard rather than the street, so it stays pretty peaceful. Plus, no stairs to deal with when you’re dragging luggage – honestly a blessing after a long travel day. If I had to nitpick, the bathroom could use a bit more counter space, and parking isn’t included, though there are decent options nearby if you’re driving. But really, for the price point and that location in Neustadt, it’s pretty hard to argue with a place that consistently delivers on the basics while throwing in some genuine style.

  Buvome 6 puikiai tilpome. Puiki vieta netoli centro apie 15 min. nuo karalio rūmų ir Zwinger ( pasiūlymas kiekvienam šių pastatų skirti atskyras dienas). Automobilio vieta bendras parkingas gatvėje 6 € para. Labai puikus miestas.
