The location on Tharandter Straße is one of those spots that locals love but tourists often miss. Cotta’s not flashy like Neustadt, but it’s real Dresden – you’ve got the morning joggers heading to the Elbe, actual German families doing their shopping, and honestly some of the best bakeries in the city within walking distance. The tram connections are fantastic (line 7 gets you to Altstadt in about fifteen minutes), and there’s this little Turkish market just down the street that stays open late when you need random supplies. Parking was surprisingly easy, which anyone who’s driven in Dresden will tell you is basically a miracle.

The apartment itself sprawls across two levels – hence the “maisonette” part of that crazy name – and it actually feels lived-in rather than sterile. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I made dinner most nights because eating out gets expensive), and the Wi-Fi worked well enough for video calls back home. The beds are comfortable, though the upstairs bedroom can get warm in summer since heat rises and all that. What I really appreciated were the little touches that show someone actually thought about guests staying here – decent hangers in the closets, proper blackout curtains, and enough outlets near the beds for charging phones. The shower has good pressure too, which matters more than people admit when writing reviews.

I mean, it’s a solid three-star place and that 8.9 rating makes sense – not luxury, but everything works and it’s genuinely comfortable. The building’s quiet at night (well, except for the occasional tram, but you get used to that), and the neighbors seem to be mostly families and older folks who aren’t throwing parties.   Die Wohnung ist bestens ausgestattet und ab und zu kam die geniale Nachbarskatze übers Dach zu Besuch. 🐱

  Sehr ruhige Lage, Wohnung schön geteilt in 2 Stockwerke, alles da was man braucht, hell und freundich eingerichtet inkl. weihnachtlicher Deko <3 Sehr sauber, nette Kleinigkeiten wie weihnachtiches Toilettenpapier mit Tiermotiv die gut an kamen da wir selber mit Hund anreisten.   Lokalita je na rušnějším místě, vedle zrovna probíhala stavba. Je to dále od centra, pěšky by se to asi nedalo. Ale výhodou je blízká zastávka MHD i vlaková stanice. Parkování vedle budovy zdarma je taktéž výhodou.
