Honestly, when I first walked into this penthouse at Pineapple Apartments, I wasn’t prepared for just how much space 162 square meters actually feels like when it’s spread across the top floor of a building right on Postplatz. I mean, you step off the elevator on the 6th floor and suddenly you’re in this sprawling apartment that feels more like a luxury flat than any hotel room I’ve stayed in – and I’ve been around Dresden enough to know that’s saying something.

The location is what really gets you though. You’re literally looking down at the Zwinger from your windows, which sounds almost too good to be true until you’re actually standing there with your morning coffee watching the early tourists start to gather around the palace courtyard. What most people don’t realize is that being this close to the Zwinger means you’re also a three-minute walk from Semperoper – and trust me, those evening performances are incredible when you can just stroll home afterward instead of hunting for taxis with everyone else. The whole Altstadt spreads out below you, and on clear days you can actually see across to Neustadt, though honestly the view of the baroque rooftops right below is what kept drawing me back to those massive windows.

The free parking spot they include is actually a game-changer if you’re driving in Dresden (parking in Altstadt can be a nightmare, especially during festival season), and the apartment itself has this lived-in elegance that feels authentic rather than sterile. The kitchen is properly equipped – I’m talking real pots and pans, not those flimsy hotel things – and there’s enough room to spread out whether you’re traveling as a couple or with friends. You know what surprised me most? How quiet it gets at night, despite being right in the heart of everything. I guess being on the top floor helps, but even with Postplatz right below, the thick walls of these old Dresden buildings really do their job. The only time you’ll hear much is during the Christmas market season, when the whole square comes alive – but honestly, that’s part of the charm. I’d actually recommend timing your stay for late spring or early fall when the weather’s perfect for those long walks along the Elbe, and you can come back to this spacious retreat without feeling like you’re cramped in some tiny hotel box. At 9.5 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks this place hits differently than your typical accommodation.

  Excellent choice! Great penthouse apartment in 6th floor. Just 3 minutes walk to Zwinger and 5 minutes to city centre. All great. Parking during stay included in final price. No additional costs. Great support on call. Strongly recommend.

  Everything about the apartment and stay was perfect! The apartment location is amazing, close to public trans, shopping, groceries etc. The apartment is well furnished, kitchen is fully equipped, full size fridge, and laundry machines in apartment as well! Floor to ceiling windows with an incredible view of the city. If I return to Dresden I will most definitely stay here again. Host was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond!

  I LOVED Everything!! It is an amazing huge apartment. Wonderful view! Wonderful location Everything super clean. Most of all the host is súper helful. I forgot some clothes and they sent it to Munich no cost!!! I can’t wait to come back again. ❤️❤️❤️
