Pineapple Apartments Dresden Mitte III – free parking Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Pineapple Apartments Dresden Mitte III? The name makes it sound like some corporate chain, but honestly, it’s got more character than half the boutique places I’ve stayed at. Located right on Wachsbleichstraße in the Altstadt – and yes, I had to practice pronouncing that a few times – this place sits perfectly between the tourist madness and actual Dresden life.

The free parking thing isn’t just a nice bonus, it’s actually a lifesaver. I mean, finding parking in Dresden’s old town is like playing Tetris with your sanity, especially during the Christmas market season when the whole area turns into a pedestrian wonderland (beautiful, but terrible for cars). The apartments are on the second floor – that’s 2.OG in German building speak – so you’ll get a bit of a workout with your luggage, but the trade-off is being tucked away from street noise. The Elbe is just a short walk away, and you can actually hear the trams rumbling by in the morning, which sounds annoying but becomes oddly comforting after a day or two.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep that old Dresden building charm without making you feel like you’re camping. The apartments have proper kitchens – not those sad hotel kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and dreams – so you can actually cook if you want to save some euros or just can’t face another schnitzel. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every time someone in the building turns on a microwave. Plus, you’re literally a fifteen-minute walk to the Frauenkirche and the Semperoper, but far enough away that you won’t hear tour groups gathering at 7 AM. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – there’s a great bakery around the corner where the locals actually go, and a little Turkish place that stays open late when you realize German restaurants close earlier than you think they should. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the shower pressure is decent but not spectacular, but there’s something refreshing about a place that just works without trying too hard to impress you. For the price point and that 8.5 rating, it makes total sense – it’s the kind of place where you can spread out, feel at home, and actually experience Dresden rather than just passing through it.

Reviews of Pineapple Apartments Dresden Mitte III – free parking

  • Good location but past feedback is not taken seriously and issues persist – Alina from United States – June 9, 2025 (7/10)

Really convenient location on the tram line, outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown.

What could be improved: The unit is marketed as a two bedroom situation, however there is only one single fan. It was barely the start of summer but it was already quite warm in the apartment, especially the second bedroom/living room.

The blinds in the living room bedroom were broken

This was pointed out in past reviews as well, so we had hoped it was addressed, but clearly not. The shower is dangerous and broken. The doors do not properly shut, and if you try to force it it will fall off the track. The gaskets also do not actually connect, so you have to make sure you're alert and not getting water out thru the front and onto the floor.

  • Exceptional – Aleksei from Germany – May 10, 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is great! The location is 15 minutes from the city center by walk, and there are different tram stops nearby.

What could be improved: The apartment windows are above the road where heavy trucks are moving. This makes sleeping a bit difficult.
Besides there is an issue with water drainage in the kitchen.

  • Location good . A lot of parking apportunities around flat – Yauheni from United Kingdom – April 14, 2025 (10/10)

Was everything good nice location if you travel by car.
I have sensitive back so mattresses was too soft for me . But rest was good

  • Very Good – Katie from Australia – January 29, 2025 (8/10)

Clean, warm, cosy. Responsive and friendly support.

What could be improved: My husband found the bed hard and pillow lumpy. I slept like the dead, no problem. I found it comfortable.

  • Very Good – Marcus from United Kingdom – December 15, 2024 (8/10)

Easy to get to the city by foot or public transport.
Great bed. Everything was there even coffee and tea.

What could be improved: The Sofa could have been more comfortable and bigger.

  • Exceptional – Jakub from Czech Republic – September 25, 2023 (10/10)

Good price-quality ratio. Easy communication. I recommend

  • A nice quiet place to relax after exploring Dresden. – Viktors from Latvia – September 7, 2023 (9/10)

Clean apartment. The kitchen has the necessary equipment for living. There were no problems with parking near the entrance. The cozy main room is for relaxing in the evening. There is a grocery store not far from the house. Quiet area.

What could be improved: The shower stall requires renovation. The front door lock is difficult to close/open a second turn. Limited access to electrical outlets near the bed in the main room.
Sometimes a helicopter arrives at the hospital at a late time (but these are not flights for fun, so there’s no problem being patient)

  • Exceptional – Mario from Bulgaria – August 29, 2023 (10/10)

The apartment was very clean, had everything necessary for long stay, the beds were comfortable.
The staff was very polite and they even let us leave our luggage there before the check-in time.
There were plenty of parking spaces (free of charge) on the street in front of the apartment.
The city centre is about 30min from the apartment (walking). There are also trams and busses passing by next to the apartment, but we walked all the time.

  • Good – Bo from Sweden – May 11, 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: There were several duvets/quilts (two sheets filled with insulation) but only one blanket (one wowen sheet).

  • Very Good – Alexandra from Romania – March 31, 2023 (8/10)

Very spacious and well equipped apart, good communication with host.

What could be improved: It could have been cleaner. Location is good if you are by car. Even without car I think you can reach city center quite fast.
