Maritim Hotel Dresden Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Maritim Hotel Dresden, you immediately sense you’re in something special — this four-star property sits right in the heart of Altstadt, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The lobby has that polished European hotel feel without being stuffy, and the staff actually seem to know what they’re doing. I mean, when couples are rating the location 9.4 out of 10, you know you’re onto something good here.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about staying in Dresden‘s old town — you can walk to pretty much everything that matters. The Frauenkirche is literally a few minutes away, and you’re close enough to the Elbe riverfront that evening strolls become part of your routine. What really struck me is how the hotel sits on Devrientstraße, which feels residential enough to avoid tourist chaos but central enough that you’re never more than a 10-minute walk from the major sights. The trams are right there too, so getting around the city is actually painless.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was well-designed in that understated German way — clean lines, quality materials, nothing flashy but everything works properly. The beds are genuinely comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathrooms have good water pressure, which honestly matters more than people admit. What I appreciated most was the soundproofing — even though you’re in the city center, nights are surprisingly quiet. The windows are large enough that you get decent natural light, and some rooms actually have views toward the historic district.
Breakfast and Practical Stuff
The breakfast buffet is solid — not groundbreaking, but it covers all the bases with both German staples and international options. Fresh bread, good coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. They’ve got parking available at the hotel, which is actually a big deal in Dresden’s old town where street parking can be a nightmare. The whole operation just feels well-run, you know? Little things work the way they should, and that makes a difference when you’re trying to enjoy your trip.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here is really the combination of location and reliability. You’re staying in one of Germany’s most beautiful historic centers, but you’re not sacrificing comfort or dealing with the quirks that sometimes come with older properties. The 8.7 guest rating reflects what I experienced — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on what actually matters to travelers. Whether you’re here for the art museums, the Christmas markets, or just exploring Saxon history, this place gives you a solid base without the premium prices you’d pay for similar locations in other major German cities.
Apartments in Dresden provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Saxon markets and cook with regional German specialties.

Reviews of Maritim Hotel Dresden
Exceptional – Lena from Netherlands – August 1, 2025 (10/10)
Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice. Comfortable location. Very silent.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect.Wonderful – David from Luxembourg – July 29, 2025 (9/10)
Super breakfast. Good, spacious room. A very good, large and very well run hotel.
What could be improved: Lift capacity, we spent a long time waiting. Better guidance before we arrived on where and how to park our car would have saved us a long walk.Astonishing hotel. – Joy from United Kingdom – July 9, 2025 (10/10)
Exceptional staff and facilities. Breakfast the most extensive I have seen in many years of travelling. Only a 10/15 minute stroll alongside the river Elbe to the Semperopera ,museums and art galleries of the old town. An amazing hotel and worth every penny.
What could be improved: As an elderly traveller climbing in and out of a slippery bathtub for a shower is not fun. Having sturdy hand holds would help.Excellent hotel in a beautiful city! – Annette from United Kingdom – June 26, 2025 (9/10)
Good location near centre. Good choice of food at breakfast. Enjoyed the very spacious room.
Worth the money, amazing breakfast, well situated – Elizabeth from United States – June 25, 2025 (10/10)
The location was good, quite, the family room was large, with a king bed in one room with on suite, the hide a bed worked well for our grandson, the 2nd bathroom was wonderful
What could be improved: The beds could have been a bit more comfortableExceptional – Graham from United Kingdom – June 23, 2025 (10/10)
Proximity to the Center of Dresden, close to transport links .
Long weekend in Dresden – Žarko from Netherlands – June 23, 2025 (9/10)
It's a luxurious hotel and this is the impression that you get from the moment you enter the premises. The room was very spacious, we had a nice view towards Elbe river and we've got a cot as requested before. The breakfast was very very good with many different options, staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is fantastic, on the edge of the old town, just great.
What could be improved: The parking is quite expensive (24EUR per day). Pillows were super soft and uncomfortable for me. We had a bit of unstable temperature of the water in the shower. Not a big deal but those are the points to improve.Great hotel. Breakfast is awesome – Mariia from Ukraine – June 20, 2025 (10/10)
All was great. Thanks
Wonderful – Vw from Australia – June 15, 2025 (9/10)
Large twin room only 5 mins walk to the Opera House, with the old town a further few mins on. While carpeted, the room is very clean and provides a reward for not changing towels daily. Would stay again.
City centre comfort – James from United Kingdom – May 30, 2025 (9/10)
It's a lovely hotel with ample parking available. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff very helpful, small issue with the room when we arrived which was rectified quickly and with a smile.
Swimming pool was great and fun for the kids.
It was a short walk into the beautiful central of Dresden. If I was in town again I'd definitely consider stating here again.
What could be improved: Improvement would be separate towels provided at the swimming pool rather than having to use rooms bath towels.
