There’s decent storage, the kitchen has everything you need for proper meals (not just a sad mini-fridge and hot plate situation), and honestly, the 8.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there. The building is one of those classic Dresden structures that survived the war, so you get these lovely high ceilings and big windows that let in amazing morning light. Street parking can be a bit tricky during the day – typical for Neustadt – but evenings are usually fine, and there’s always the option to park near Alaunpark and walk back.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood vibe. You’re close enough to walk to the Frauenkirche and all that (maybe 15 minutes across the Augustus Bridge), but you get to come home to where actual Dresdeners live. The bakery around the corner opens ridiculously early and has these incredible Stollen during winter – I mean, you’re in Dresden, so you have to try the real deal. Plus, if you’re into the artsy scene, some of the best galleries and vintage shops are right in your backyard. The tram connections are solid too, so you can easily get to other parts of the city without dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but it’s genuine and comfortable, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Dresden.
