Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Dresden apartments over the years, but this place on Schützengasse genuinely surprised me – and honestly, that 9.7 rating isn’t just lucky reviews from people who don’t know better. The moment you step inside, you realize someone actually thought about how people live, not just how to cram beds into rooms. The two bedrooms are properly sized (I mean, you can actually walk around the bed without doing some weird sideways shuffle), and having two full bathrooms is a game-changer when you’re traveling with another couple or, you know, just don’t want to wait in line for the shower.

What really gets me is the location – Schützengasse puts you right in the thick of Altstadt without the tourist chaos that hits places closer to the Frauenkirche. You’re literally a three-minute walk to the main sights, but when you come home in the evening, it’s actually quiet enough to sleep with the windows open. The balcony faces away from the main pedestrian flow, so you get that nice morning coffee moment without feeling like you’re on display. I spent way too much time out there just watching Dresden wake up, which… well, that’s either charming or means I need more excitement in my life.

The practical stuff matters too – check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no weird key pickup locations across town), and there’s decent grocery shopping within a few blocks if you want to use that surprisingly well-equipped kitchen. The building itself has that solid, pre-war feel without the creaky floors and temperamental plumbing you sometimes get in historic areas. Internet actually works for video calls, the heating responds when you adjust it, and honestly, the shower pressure is better than my apartment back home. I know these sound like small things, but they’re the difference between a good stay and spending your vacation troubleshooting. The whole setup just feels like someone’s well-loved home that they happen to share with travelers, rather than a sterile rental property managed by algorithm.

  This modern apartment is very spacious, very comfortable, with two generous bedrooms (large double beds) and bathrooms, and a very well equipped kitchen; flawless wifi. I stayed with three adolescent/adult children and it worked very well. The apartment is situated on the first floor of a new building, in a quiet corner of the old centre just off Schützengasse, with three way views towards a city garden and some historical houses (no city panorama as you're on the first floor); it faces a new concert hall. Large windows all around but good privacy. Location is excellent. The railway station Dresden Mitte is 5 minutes away, and connects you to all public transport and the airport. The Zwinger, and the historical center, are almost around the corner. Three supermarkets within 5-10 minutes, huge shopping center at 10; some nice restaurants in the immediate vicinity (brennNessel, Zum Schiesshaus, Grazie Mille). Communication was very smooth.

  The place is impressive- large, clean and modern. All major attractions are within walking distance, so are a couple of good restaurants and grocery stores. We will definitely stay again if come back to Dresden.

  Absolutely gorgeous apartment in a perfect location. The owners have gone above and beyond providing all the comforts you may need. The kitchen is beautiful and we enjoyed making home cooked meals. The location is excellent to reach all tourist destinations by foot. There is a train station within a few blocks and several grocery stores within a five min walk.
