Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “GREENs” with that whole German apartment description, I thought I was booking some sterile Airbnb situation. But walking up to 7 Bünaustraße in Cotta, I actually got excited. This isn’t your typical hotel at all – it’s more like staying in a friend’s perfectly curated apartment, and honestly, that’s exactly what Dresden needed.

The location is what really got me. Cotta’s one of those Dresden neighborhoods that locals love but tourists usually miss completely. You’re about fifteen minutes from the old town madness (which, don’t get me wrong, you absolutely need to see), but when you come back in the evening, it’s just… quiet. Real quiet. The kind where you can actually hear birds instead of tour groups. The balcony – and yeah, there really is a proper balcony – faces away from the street, so even with the windows open, you’re not getting wake-up calls from delivery trucks at 6 AM. I mean, there’s something to be said for falling asleep to actual silence instead of the usual city hum.

What surprised me most was how thoughtfully everything’s set up. The apartment itself feels lived-in but not cluttered, you know? Someone clearly spent time thinking about what travelers actually need – decent coffee setup, enough counter space to spread out your stuff, lighting that doesn’t make you look like a zombie in the bathroom mirror. The whole place has this understated green theme (hence the name, I guess) that could’ve been cheesy but actually works. And parking – God, parking in Dresden can be a nightmare, but there’s usually space on the street here, and it’s free overnight. Small thing, but when you’re dragging luggage around a foreign city, these details matter.

The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be the Ritz, but for what it is – a peaceful, well-designed base camp for exploring Dresden – it absolutely nails it. The Cotta train station is maybe a ten-minute walk, so getting into the center is actually easier than from some of the “centrally located” places that charge twice as much. Plus, there’s a solid bakery two blocks down that opens early, and a little Turkish place around the corner that locals queue up at on weekends. You know a neighborhood’s good when the food is both authentic and affordable.

I’d definitely come back, especially if I was doing one of those longer Dresden stays where you want to live like a person instead of a tourist. Fair warning though – if you need someone at a front desk 24/7 or daily housekeeping, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuinely comfortable place to decompress after wandering around the Zwinger or climbing up to the Frauenkirche dome, and you appreciate staying somewhere that feels more like Dresden and less like generic hotel land, then honestly, I can’t think of a better choice in this price range.

  Ich hatte für meine Tochter mit Partner gebucht.
  Im Vorfeld hatte ich sehr netten und unkomplizierten
  Kontakt mit dem Vermieter.
  Die Wohnung liegt beschattet im Hinterhof. Bei sommerlichen Temperaturen sehr angenehm.
  Es war alles sauber und das Bett sehr bequem.
  Die Beiden haben sich dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

  Das Zimmer ist geschmacklich sehr schön eingerichtet und ich hatte alles was ich brauchte.
  Es liegt in direkter Nähe von einer Straßenbahnhaltestelle und es braucht nur ein paar Stationen und man ist in der Altstadt von Dresden.
  Ein Lebensmittelgeschäft ist auch um die Ecke.

  Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Apartment mit Balkon im grünen Vorstadtumfeld. Alles vorhanden um sich auch bei einem längeren Aufenthalt wohlzufühlen.

  Mir hat einfach alles gefallen…die Lage, die Ausstattung der Wohnung, die Freundlichkeit und das Bestreben des symphatischen Vermieters um eine unkomplizierte Abwicklung. Die Umgebung bietet zu Fuß erreichbar alles , was man so braucht. Da sind Banken, ein Rewe, Eiscafes und mehrere Restaurants und Einiges mehr. Das Auto kann man stehen lassen. Die Strassenbahnhaltestelle ist in drei Minuten erreicht. Die Wohnung liegt hinten raus, so dass man von dem ganzen Trubel ringsum nichts mitbekommt. Der Balkon liegt im Schatten mehrerer Bäume, heizt sich also nicht so auf. Die Wohnung selbst: einladender geht es nicht. Ich habe mich sofort wohlgefühlt. Komfortabel und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, bietet sie alles, was man für einen Aufenthalt so braucht. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet, es gibt genügend Steckdosen, das Internet ist schnell genug, um Filme zu streamen. Nicht zu vergessen: das Bett, sehr bequem. Ich habe traumhaft geschlafen.
