There’s this authentic neighborhood vibe – you’ve got a proper bakery just down the street where the locals grab their morning brötchen, and honestly, watching the morning routine from the apartment window with a coffee in hand became my favorite part of each day. The space itself feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile (in a good way), with those solid German furnishings that’ll probably outlast us all. What really sold me was the kitchen setup – it’s actually functional, not just for show, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with kids who get cranky without familiar snacks.

Getting into the city center is surprisingly straightforward once you figure out the tram system, though I’d recommend downloading the transport app first because the paper schedules at the stops can be… well, let’s just say they’re very German in their complexity. The neighborhood gets properly quiet after about 9 PM, which was perfect for me but might feel too sleepy if you’re looking for nightlife within walking distance. Parking was never an issue – there’s always a spot somewhere nearby, unlike in the Altstadt where you’re circling for twenty minutes and paying through the nose. I mean, sure, Prohlis isn’t going to win any beauty contests, and you’ll see some Soviet-era architecture that’s more functional than pretty, but there’s something refreshingly honest about it. Plus, that 8.9 rating isn’t just wishful thinking – the host really does respond quickly, the place is genuinely clean, and when my heating acted up on a chilly October evening, someone was there within an hour to sort it out.

  Super gute Lage, tolle Terrasse und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es war einfach perfekt. Auch der Gastgeber super organisiert, freundlich und man fühlte sich sehr willkommen. Kommunikation auch unkompliziert. Ein Träumchen ❤️
