Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Weinbergstraße 16, I wasn’t expecting much from this little apartment hotel tucked away in Pieschen. The neighborhood’s sort of off the beaten tourist path, which actually turned out to be exactly what made Ferienwohnung Weintraube so charming. You know that feeling when you stumble onto something that feels more like a local secret than a typical hotel stay? That’s this place.

The Weintraube (which means “grape” – love that they leaned into the whole wine theme with the street name) sits in what I’d call proper Dresden, not the postcard version. Pieschen’s got this lived-in vibe where you’ll hear kids playing in courtyards and smell actual dinner cooking from apartment windows, not just tourist restaurant food. The building itself has that solid German architecture thing going on – thick walls that actually keep noise out (thank god, because I’m a light sleeper) and these satisfying heavy doors that click shut with authority. Walking up to the entrance, you can tell someone actually cares about the place – the little garden area was tidy, and there were these cheerful flower boxes that, I mean, you don’t see those at chain hotels.

What really got me was how the whole setup felt like staying at a friend’s well-organized guest room rather than some sterile hotel box. The apartment I stayed in had this mix of practical furniture and little touches that made it clear locals probably use this place when their relatives visit – you know, real coffee mugs instead of those tiny hotel cups, actual hangers in the closet, a kitchen that looked like people cook in it. The woman who checked me in (I think she might be the owner?) knew exactly which tram line would get me to the Altstadt fastest and mentioned this bakery two streets over that opens early – that kind of insider knowledge you just can’t fake. Honestly, the 8.6 rating makes total sense because this isn’t trying to be fancy, it’s trying to be genuinely useful and comfortable. The three-star rating feels about right too – you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge, but everything works properly and there’s this sense that if something did go wrong, someone would actually fix it quickly. Plus, parking was way easier than I expected for Dresden, and you’re close enough to catch the tram into the center but far enough out that you’re not dealing with crowds of tourists stumbling back to their hotels at midnight. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra day because you realize you actually like having a home base that feels, well, like home.

  Находится в тихом районе, рядом с домом улица с парковочными местами. Домик красивый, правда сами аппартаменты находятся в полуподвальном уровне. Сами апартаменты понравились. Достаточно просторно, спальня и гостинная. Кровати очень удобные и вокруг тишина. Выспались как младенцы. Диван у окон – наш фаворит!
  На кухне было всё необходимое. Гостинная оборудована в старинном стиле, было интересно.
  
  What could be improved: На территории шли ремонтные работы, но это нам не мешало. Остальное было ок.

  Grosse Wohnung und sehr ruhige Umgebung, es war alles sauber und es gab alles wan man braucht , sehr gute Betten und saubere bettenwäsche und Tücher.
  
  What could be improved: Es gab keine Rauchmelder, besonders braucht man diese im Flühr bei solche Wohnungen mit Gitter am Fenster, da diese Kellerflühr ist einzige weg aus der Wohnung . Sichtschutz am Fenster im Badezimmer kaputt, man kann nicht am Abend Baden oder Duschen mit Licht weil sonst wird von außen alles desehen da die Wohnung sich im Untergeschos befindet , wir mussten das Fenster mit Düne Decke zu deken um mit Licht baden zu können, und Fernseher funktioniert auch nicht . Sonst alles gut , Vielen Dank.

  Очень стильная, уютная и энергетически светлая квартира. Находится на нижнем этаже виллы, но она все равно очень светлая. Много натурального дерева, старинная мебель, предметы декора, картины – все подобрано со вкусом. Спальня ( большая двуспальная кровать, одна односпальная и дополнительная выдвижная кровать еще для одного человека, зеркало в полный рост, столик и 2 стула, прикроватные тумбочки, белоснежное белье и по 2 полотенца на человека). Гостиная ( диван, телевизор, обеденный стол и 5 стульев, книжный шкаф с книгами и множеством туристических брошюр), музыкальный центр с дисками). Кухня ( холодильник, плита, микроволновка, чайник, тостер, кофемашина, стиральная машина). Много различной посуды и кухонной утвари. Огромная ванная комната с ванной. Сад за домом. Парковка бесплатная на улице возле виллы, обычно можно найти место

  The house and garden were beautiful, and the location was great too. The kitchen was well equipped, and the beds comfortable enough.
  
  What could be improved: It was quite dirty and there was a horrible smell in the bathroom that didn't g help. One bed really creaked every time you moved.

  Overall it is a big, local apartment with bonus – parking on street in front of the house. There are nice details by host – as coffee machine, washing machine.
  
  What could be improved: Management of place is weak. Apartment is in half basement, there are steap stairs with no lights and stairs were never cleaned of snow or ice during our 4 day stay. So you can not see anything and stairs are icy which makes it extremely dangerous. There is also no light in hall, so you can try to open your doors holding your bags and phone at the same time.
  
  We were sent instructions to pick up keys via lockbox but it did not work and after calling host said that she knew that already.. Why then you did not inform us but we spent 15min trying to open it in minus degrees??? I was also never answered to my sms asking about public transport. So overall, very weak management unfortunately.
  
  Please note – it is really uncomfortable to get to Old town – you take 2 different transports and wait for them in between. Took us 55 min on average every time.
