DD Apartments Overview
Honestly, DD Apartments caught me off guard in the best way possible. When I first walked up to the building on Meißner Straße, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked into this quiet residential street that most tourists probably zip right past on their way to the old town. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes it work.
The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than dealing with typical hotel nonsense. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – actually spacious, not just “European spacious” where you’re bumping into furniture every five minutes. I loved having a proper kitchen because, let’s be real, eating out for every meal in Dresden gets expensive fast, especially when you’re staying longer than a weekend. The local Netto is literally a three-minute walk if you need groceries, and there’s this little bakery around the corner on Cossebauder Straße that does incredible stollen (even outside Christmas season, which locals will tell you is the real test).
What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the tourist chaos around Frauenkirche that you actually sleep well, but close enough that you can walk to the Altstadt in about fifteen minutes if you cut through the park. The tram stop at Cotta is super close too – honestly more convenient than staying right in the center where everything’s crowded and overpriced. I stayed during late spring and the neighborhood felt properly lived-in, you know? Kids riding bikes, people walking dogs, that sort of authentic Dresden life you miss when you’re stuck in hotel-land near the river. The staff runs a pretty relaxed operation – check-in was smooth, they speak decent English, and when my shower started making weird noises on day three, someone actually showed up to fix it within a couple hours. That 8.8 rating makes sense once you’re there because it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be good at what it does. Sure, don’t expect marble bathrooms or a concierge, but if you want a comfortable base to explore Dresden without paying tourist prices or dealing with tour groups in the elevator every morning, this place delivers.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Dresden through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s rich cultural heritage.

Reviews of DD Apartments
By a car with a dog – Dana from Czech Republic – July 4, 2025 (9/10)
The apartment is in a great location. There is a very nice park right across the street, so if you travel with your dog it is very convenient. Also there is a direct tram connection to the downtown and many grocery shops plus one large shopping centre nearby. Parking is available in the courtyard of the property. A complimentary bottle of sparkling wine welcomed us in the cozy and clean apartment. Check-in and check-out were very easy. I can warmly recommend this accommodation.
What could be improved: Noise from the main street was heard during the day and at night, but we were there during summer heatwave, so we could hear it mostly because we had the windows open. One of the little decoration pillows on the bed was a bit dirty (but otherwise everything was clean). The ideal temporary ‘home’ in Dresden – Anton from Netherlands – April 28, 2025 (9/10)
The room was very spacious and everything felt new and well-looked after. The kitchen was fully stocked. From the apartment it is 20 min by tram to the city center.
What could be improved: Our apartment was on the third floor. For us it wasn’t a problem, but be aware there’s no elevator.Wonderful – Jiri from Czech Republic – April 10, 2025 (9/10)
Location is great all you need is around. Accommodation is clean nice comfy and calm. In the kitchen you can find everithink you need.

Very clean, spacious, had everything we needed.
An excellent price-to-quality ratio. Ideal for large groups, allowing everyone to have their own space without disturbin – Julia from Poland – February 16, 2025 (9/10)
We stayed in Apartment 3, which is located on the second floor. It has three rooms, a separate small kitchen, and plenty of sleeping places. Each room has a TV (though we didn’t use them). We didn’t experience any noise from the road or anything similar, even though a tram passes right under the window.
• Towels, dishes, a hairdryer, and a towel set for each guest are provided.
• As I understand, it’s a tradition to give each guest a small gift upon check-in. A nice touch!
• Everything is very clean and smells pleasant. No limescale on the faucets.
• Getting to the city center is very easy by tram number 4. It departs from the stop near the Harley-Davidson salon and takes about 20 minutes to reach the very center. Tickets can be paid for by card on board (in case someone doesn’t know).
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There’s a LIDL 350 meters away, Aldi a bit further, and also a REWE nearby. There’s also a small shopping center with a Kaufland and other stores.
What could be improved: These aren’t exactly drawbacks, just things I noticed.
• The building is old and has a charming atmosphere, but the floors are wooden, so when walking, it feels like everything is shaking. This isn’t something the owners can control, and it’s not a complaint.
• The Wi-Fi occasionally disconnected, and we had to reconnect it quite often.
• We couldn’t figure out where to throw out the trash—there were no separate bins for different types of waste. This confused us a little since we didn’t know how to sort and dispose of it properly. A small guide for future guests might be helpful.
• Our beds in the farthest bedroom creaked a lot with every movement, which was slightly inconvenient, though the bedding was clean and very comfortable.Amazing! – Maria from Romania – February 14, 2025 (10/10)
The location was absolutley spotless, everything was shining, doors, furniture, floors, windows, appliances, bathroom ,well furnished and having all the amenities was amazing. The welcome drink ,a very nice touch from their behalf.Lidl store was 5 min walking. 20' min up to the City centre by tram(the stop is 2 min walking).t
Thank you!

The apartment is cozy and large enough, so we, as a group of friends. We could live here comfortably. Staff ( communication with booking) were helpful.
What could be improved: The location is a bit off, but fair for a priceExceptional – Natallia from Lithuania – July 19, 2024 (10/10)
Very comfortable apartment with a good interior. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed. Everything is very clean and fresh. Upon arrival, you receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine from the host.
Check-in instructions are clear and detailed. Free parking in the yard is also an advantage. The apartment is located close to the tram stop, making it quick and easy to get to the city center. There is also a large supermarket nearby.
