The whole Outer Neustadt area has this great mix of student bars and little galleries, and you’ll find yourself just wandering around discovering stuff. There’s this bakery called Bäckerei Schwerdtner about two blocks down that locals queue up at every morning – their Streuselkuchen is ridiculously good.

What really sold me on this place was how it felt like staying in someone’s actual neighborhood rather than a hotel district.
