The building itself has that solid Dresden character, the kind that survived everything this city’s been through, and when you’re walking up to it, you get the sense you’re about to discover something the tour groups haven’t figured out yet.

The apartment setup is honestly perfect for people who want to feel settled rather than just passing through. There’s actual counter space in the kitchen (revolutionary, I know), and the living area has these windows that let in this gorgeous morning light – assuming you’re not the type who needs blackout curtains until noon. What really got me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re not stuck out in some suburban nowhere. Blasewitz has this lovely residential vibe where you’ll hear kids playing in courtyards and maybe some distant tram sounds, but none of that jarring city chaos that keeps you up all night. The whole neighborhood feels like real Dresden life, not tourist Dresden life, if that makes sense.

Here’s the thing about the location that nobody mentions in those generic travel guides – you’re actually positioned perfectly between the historic center and some of the city’s best-kept secrets. Sure, you can hop on the tram and be at the Frauenkirche in fifteen minutes, but honestly, I found myself spending more time wandering around Blasewitz itself. There’s this bakery about three blocks away (I won’t tell you exactly where because discovering it yourself is half the fun) that does these incredible Striezel, and the whole area along the Elbe has these walking paths that locals use but tourists somehow miss completely. The 8.5 rating makes total sense when you consider that this isn’t trying to compete with those flashy five-star places downtown – it’s doing its own thing, and doing it really well. You’ll have space to spread out, you can grab groceries and actually cook if you want to, and when you step outside, you’re in a part of Dresden that feels authentic rather than preserved in tourist amber. It’s the kind of place where you might actually extend your stay a day or two, not because you have more sights to check off, but because you’ve found a rhythm that works.

  Die Lage war gut, nur ca 3 Minuten bis zur Straßenbahn. Küche war gut ausgestattet.
  
  What could be improved: Auto musste an der Straße stehen , die sehr eng war. Einige Möbelstücke müssten mal ausgetauscht werden. Nicht für Behinderte geeignet, da im 2. Stock.

  What could be improved: Versteckte Kosten: Erst mehrere Tage nach der (nicht kostenfrei stornierbaren) Buchung teilte die Besitzerin mir mit, dass die Beherbergungssteuer nicht in dem angegebenen und schon bezahlten Preis inbegriffen war. Es ging um 22 Euro. Vorsicht bei Kochen: Es gibt keine Abzugshaube, und der Rauchalarm sprang schon beim Kochen und Braten von Gemüsen an. Ich musste den Besitzer holen, der dann die Frechheit hatte zu behaupten, ich sei selber schuld, da ich mein Essen angebrannt hätte – was absolut nicht der Fall war. Die Küchezeile ist sowieso mit Vorsicht zu geniessen, da sie sich an der schrägen Dachwand befindet – man stösst deswegen ständig den Kopf an die Wand, wenn man z.B. die Kaffeemaschine benutzen will.

  Ruhige Lage. Vermieter waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Schöner eingewachsener Garten. Abstellmöglichkeit für Fahrräder ist vorhanden .
