Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Wohnperle*GroßerGarten*Villa” I thought someone had a keyboard malfunction, but this place actually lives up to its quirky moniker. It’s tucked right on Wiener Straße in Dresden’s Altstadt, and you know what? That location is pretty much perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood instead of some touristy bubble.

The thing about this place is it has that lived-in villa vibe that’s getting harder to find. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star property, but honestly the 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there. The rooms have this authentic German charm – and I don’t mean fake rustic stuff with plastic lederhosen on the walls. We’re talking actual character, like creaky floorboards that somehow feel cozy instead of annoying, and windows that open properly (which, if you’ve stayed in modern chain hotels, you’ll appreciate). The whole place feels more like you’re crashing at your well-traveled aunt’s house than a standard hotel.

What really sold me on this spot was how the staff actually knew the area. When I asked about getting to the Großer Garten – which is literally right there, by the way – the desk clerk didn’t just point vaguely east. She told me which entrance to use, mentioned that the early morning light hits the palace beautifully around 7 AM, and even suggested a café on the far side that locals use. That’s the kind of intel you can’t Google. The breakfast setup is pretty solid too, nothing fancy but proper German bread and decent coffee, plus they don’t rush you out if you want to linger with a second cup while planning your day. Parking was surprisingly straightforward for Dresden – there’s street parking that doesn’t require a engineering degree to figure out, though I’d definitely move your car before the morning rush if you’re blocking anyone.

The neighborhood itself is where this place really shines. You’re close enough to walk into the historic center without breaking a sweat, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tour groups marching past your window at dawn. Wiener Straße has this nice residential feel with actual shops locals use, not just souvenir stands. There’s a bakery two blocks down that opens early and makes these incredible stollen (even off-season), and honestly, grabbing pastries there became part of my morning routine. The tram connections are solid if you want to explore beyond walking distance, and the evening walk back from the Altstadt is actually quite pleasant – you get to decompress from sightseeing as the tourist crowds thin out.

  Die Lage ist super, innerhalb von 20 Minuten ist man an der Frauenkirche. Die Straßenbahn Nr. 9 ist in zwei Minuten zu erreichen.
  Der große Garten ist auch gleich ums Eck.
  Der einzige kleine Minuspunkt ist die befahrene Wiener Straße, zu der das Schlafzimmer liegt. Aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau.

  Location was excellent! Apartment was spotless with big windows, very light,large bathroom.
  It has all amenities ( if you stay for more than few days)
  
  What could be improved: My disappointment started on arrival, when we could not open the grille to get the keys.
  I called the hosts on 2 different numbers and get a voice mail But Sylvia did respond immediately on my message. We did follow instructions, but still were unable to get the keys. Fortunately , another tenant happened to come home and helped us.
  When we walked into the apartment, it looks really very nice, but there was not any information for tourists ( I used to have during my previous trips), not even scrap paper or pen etc)
  In a bathroom ( which was gorgeous, indeed), we only found liquid soap.,and only 4 towels for 2 people( no extra) A little unusual …
  When I was looking for place to stay in Dresden , I requested 2 beds, and booked 1 bedroom apartment.
  The bedroom looked very nice with 2 pillows and 2 blankets. But we could not find any sheets for the sofa bed. And when I asked Sylvia , her message shocked me and my cousin. She started her response : “ It is annoying.. ..”, and that I should have requested the sheet in advance during booking
  Finally, the sheet was delivered the next day.
  The bed was very comfortable, but the sofa bed mattress was not and had 3 large stains .
  One more thing: coffee capsules were too small for the machine
  So , overall we still enjoyed our stay.
  But as a frequent traveler ,I expected a different attitude from the host.

  Ferienwohnung befindet in der top Lage. Ausstattung ist super, uns hat an nichts gefehlt.

  So wie auf den Fotos abgebildet. Küche gut ausgestattet, alles sauber. Gute Matratzen.
  Bus/ Straßenbahn schnell zu erreichen. Gute Park Möglichkeiten an der Straße.

  Es ist recht hellhörig (andere Mieter und Straße im Schlafzimmer).
  Auch wenn es eine Nichtraucher Wohnung ist, roch es nach abgestandnem Rauch.
  Richtig wohl haben wir uns leider nicht gefühlt – dies ist jedoch reines persönliches empfinden

  Die Unterkunft ist wirklich außergewöhnlich schön. Eine so qualitativ hochwertige Einrichtung findet man sehr selten.
  Schöne große, helle Räume mit 2 Balkonen jeweils zur Sonnenseite, ein großes und helles Badezimmer, ein sehr geräumiges und bequemes Wohnzimmer und ein großes Schlafzimmer mit großem Kleiderschrank und bequemem Bett machen den Aufenthalt in Dresden zu einem Erlebnis.
  Ich habe selten eine so saubere Wohnung vorgefunden.
  Die Küchenausstattung sucht ihresgleichen. Endlich auch einmal eine Küche mit vernünftigen Küchenmessern und nicht so einem Schrott, wie man es bisweilen auch vorfinden kann. Es sind ausreichend Teller , Tassen , Gläser und Besteck vorhanden. Das Schneidebrett hat einen integrierten Messerschärfer!
  Die Lage ist sehr gut. Der Bahnhof Strehlen ist in fußläufiger Entfernung schnell zu erreichen und man ist mit Bus oder Bahn in kürzester Zeit in der Stadt. Der Nettomarkt mit angegliedertem Bäcker sind in 5 min zu Fuß zu erreichen. Einen weitere Bäckerei ist eine Minute weiter entfernt.
  Ebenfalls fußläufig kann man in den großen Garten gehen.
  Ich kann die Wohnung wärmstens empfehlen.
  (Vllt legen die Besitzer der Wohnung für den Induktionsherd eine Beschreibung bei, für die, die sich mit dieser Technik nicht auskennen.)

  Lage zu ÖPNV war sehr günstig, der Park in der Nähe war bestens für Abendspaziergänge, schön im Stil passend renovierte Wohnung in Jahrhundertwende-Villa und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, Balkon an der Küche war bestens geeignet zum Draußenessen
  
  What could be improved: bei 10 Tage Aufenthalt hätte ich mir einen Handtuchwechsel gewünscht, ein 2. Paar Schlüssel wäre praktisch gewesen, relativ viel Verkehr, so dass Schlafen mit offenem Fenster nicht möglich war. Leider wurden auch gerade Bauarbeiten am Gebäude durchgeführt

  The property is very nice and luxuriously arranged and furnished. I loved the bathroom which was impeccably clean and had both shower cabin and a bathtub. The surroundings are very peaceful with lots of trees and green plants. The apartment is in a small building in its own yard. Absolutely gorgeous place. I recommend it without any doubt. Go see it yourself.
