The building itself isn’t going to win any architectural awards, but step inside and you’ll find everything’s been thoughtfully put together. I mean, the guy even had proper coffee waiting, not those terrible instant packets you usually get.

The location is what really sold me on this place, though. Pieschen isn’t where most tourists end up, which is exactly why it works so well. You’re far enough from the Altstadt crowds that you can actually walk down the street without dodging tour groups, but the tram connection into central Dresden takes maybe fifteen minutes – I timed it. There’s this fantastic little bakery about three blocks down that opens ridiculously early (like 6 AM early), and honestly, their Stollen puts the touristy versions to shame. Frank mentioned it during our chat, along with a few other local spots that I never would’ve found otherwise. The apartment itself feels more lived-in than hotel-sterile, if that makes sense. Good water pressure in the shower, which – let’s be real – matters more than fancy toiletries. The kitchen actually has sharp knives and decent cookware, unlike most rentals where you’re stuck trying to cut tomatoes with what feels like a butter knife.

What really impressed me was how quiet everything gets after about 9 PM. You’d think being on a main street might mean traffic noise, but Kaditzer Straße settles down nicely in the evenings. I could actually open the windows for fresh air without feeling like I was sleeping next to the Autobahn. Parking was straightforward too – Frank sorted that out ahead of time, which saved me the usual German parking puzzle. Look, this isn’t some luxury experience with marble bathrooms and room service, but that 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s the kind of place where everything just works, the host actually knows his neighborhood, and you end up feeling like you got an authentic slice of Dresden life rather than the sanitized tourist version. If you’re the type who prefers character over corporate polish, Frank’s apartment delivers exactly what you’re hoping for.

  Lejligheden er i en villa i et roligt villakvarter. Den var hyggeligt indrettet, og der var det vi skulle bruge. Mulighed for tøjvask. Værten var meget imødekommende og hjalp med navn på noget, der var godt mod den forkølelse, vi havde pådraget os. Vi kender jo ikke tyske mærker. Ret tæt på centrum og et storcenter. Mulighed for at sætte tagboks i haven.
  Der er meget at opleve i Dresden og omegn.
  Vi vender gerne tilbage til Franks bolig.

  Дуже затишні апартаменти, розташовані у тихому та спокійному районі. У приміщенні є все необхідне для комфортного проживання. Дуже привітний власник. Зручна транспортна розв'язка. До центру міста можна дістатися трамваєм, або пройтися повз мальовничі краєвиди Ельби. Дуже рекомендую. / Sehr gemütliche Wohnung in einem ruhigen und friedlichen Viertel. Die Unterkunft ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt braucht. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich. Die Verkehrsanbindung ist bequem – ins Stadtzentrum kommt man entweder mit der Straßenbahn oder zu Fuß entlang der malerischen Elbe. Sehr empfehlenswert!

  Ubytování bylo čisté. V příjemné lokalite. Kousek od řeky a zastavky tramvaje a autobusu. S dojezdovou vzdáleností asi 15 min do centra. Milý pan domácí, ktery nam ochotně poradil a dal tipy k cestování. Rádi se zase vrátíme.

  Fantastic accommodation in an ideal location. It was very well furnished and spotlessly clean with 2 separate bedrooms, 2 living areas, each with a large smart TV (with streaming services), a well equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom. We loved the layout of the apartment as it gave us and our teenagers privacy and space. The wifi was very fast. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We loved the place. It had everything we needed. We could not have asked for more. The host, Frank, was amazing. A genuinely nice guy. He was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to provide a great stay for his guests. He spoke excellent English and communicated really well. He very cheerfully picked us up from the train station, took us to the apartment to rest after our long train journey, and then took us to the only supermarket that was open as it was a Sunday. Frank even drove us around to various places on several occasions. He did this with much happiness and not wanting anything in return. The accommodation has a very diverse and natural garden. It’s in a very quiet area and less than a 10 minute walk to the tram stop (No.9),which takes around 12 minutes to the town centre. We enjoyed walking along the Elbe River to some great restaurants. This was a short walk from the apartment. We even enjoyed the amazing New Year’s Eve fireworks from the bridge which was only a few minutes walk from the apartment. Our family loved every minute of it and will definitely return.
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing we did not like. We just did not like leaving, and will book for longer next time.
