So I stumbled across this little gem in Dresden’s Weißer Hirsch district, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the name “Kraxlhütte” – it sounds like some basic mountain hut, right? But man, was I wrong. This place sits right on Grundstraße, which is actually perfect because you’re tucked away from the tourist madness downtown but still close enough to everything that matters. The whole Weißer Hirsch area has this old-world residential vibe that locals love – tree-lined streets, proper German architecture, and the kind of quiet you actually notice after a day of sightseeing.

What really got me about this place was how it manages to feel both polished and genuinely cozy at the same time. I mean, we’re talking about a 4-star spot with a 9.4 rating, so yeah, they’ve got their act together, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or trying-too-hard like some places do. The apartment setup is brilliant – you get your own space to spread out (which is clutch after cramming into tiny hotel rooms elsewhere), but everything’s been thoughtfully done. The kitchen actually works for making real meals, not just heating up instant noodles, and there’s this attention to little details that you only notice when someone clearly gives a damn about their guests’ experience. The beds are the kind where you actually sleep through the night instead of tossing around on some rock-hard mattress.

You know what I really appreciated? The location gives you options. Sure, you could take the tram down to the Altstadt when you want to do the whole Dresden thing – the Frauenkirche, the palace, all that – but honestly, some of my best moments were just wandering around the neighborhood itself. There’s something about Weißer Hirsch that feels more authentic than the reconstructed old town (beautiful as it is). Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center, which if you’re driving, you’ll understand is worth its weight in gold. The whole area gets this lovely golden light in the evenings, especially in summer, and it’s quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation on the balcony without competing with traffic. I stayed here during what turned out to be a pretty busy festival weekend, and while the city center was absolutely packed, this felt like a peaceful retreat where I could recharge between exploring. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra night just because leaving feels unnecessarily stressful.

  Die Wohnung ist neu renoviert, sehr gut geschnitten und sehr modern ausgestattet. Besonders schön fand ich die Wohnküche mit ausreichend Platz zum Essen und das Wohnzimmer, in dem auch ein Kamin zur Verfügung stand. Am Haus vorbei verläuft eine Straße, es könnte störend sein, wenn jemand die absolute Stille sucht. Mich hat es überhaupt nicht gestört. Das Schlafzimmer liegt auch "nach hinten raus", sodaß man dort gar nichts vom Straßenverkehr mitbekommen hat. Im Schlafzimmer gibt es einen großen Kleiderschrank mit Safe und netter indirekter Beleuchtung. Des weiteren gibt es eine kleine Terrasse mit Grill und einer Hecke, sodass man ungestört sitzen kann. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen und in der Küche findet man alles was man braucht. Achja und August (mein Hund) war ebenso herzlich willkommen.

  Wir wurden sehr höflich empfangen. Die Wohnung ist hochwertig und modern ausgestattet. Es hat nichts gefehlt. Bus und Bahn waren sehr schnell zu erreichen. Das 49 € haben wir deshalb ausgekostet. Wir durften den neuen Grill auf der Terrasse einweihen.

  Es war sehr gut. Sehr schöne und hochwertig eingerichtete Ferienwohnung mit sehr guter Ausstattung. Alles sauber. Tolles Umfeld. Gute Anbindung an die Stadt.

  Просторная кухня, светлая ванная комната, уютная спальня и гостиная. Автобусная остановка в 5 минутах ходьбы. Продуктовый магазин тоже в хорошей досягаемости. Рядом тоже аптека. Относительно тихая улица
  
  What could be improved: Очень неудобный въезд во двор с очень крутым подъёмом. Автомобиль с низкой спортивной посадкой туда просто не въедет, не повредив днище. Развернуть автомобиль во дворике практически невозможно. Было бы очень хорошо, если бы владелец разместил также фотографии двора. Это было бы очень важной информацией для гостей.

  Sehr sauber, sehr komfortabel, die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet mit hochwertigen Geräte und jeglichen Zubehör. Neues und sehr gepflegtes Inventar. Privatsphäre und Diskretion sind vorhanden. Ein Wohlfühl Effect stellte sich sogleich ein.
