The location is actually brilliant if you know Dresden at all. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Frauenkirche and the Semperoper, but here’s the thing – you’re on a street that doesn’t get completely overrun with tour groups. I stayed here during spring when the city gets pretty busy, and while the main squares were packed, coming back to Freiberger Straße felt like retreating to a quieter corner where actual Dresdeners live. The tram connections are solid too (you’ll probably use the Altmarkt stop a lot), and I noticed there’s decent parking nearby, which isn’t always a given in the old town.

What really sold me on the place was the attention to detail – not in a fussy way, but in a “someone actually thought about what travelers need” way. The space genuinely has that penthouse character they promise, with these great windows that let in tons of light, and honestly, the morning coffee situation with views over the old city rooftops was pretty perfect. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not trying to be ultra-luxury, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully put together. That 9.1 guest rating makes sense too; I can see why people keep coming back. The check-in process was smooth (no weird lobby waiting around), and the whole building has this quiet, residential feel even though you’re right in the tourist zone. One small thing – the evening light in the main room is particularly nice, something about the way it hits those period building features. If you’re coming to Dresden and want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than just crashing in a generic hotel room, this place gets it right.

  Die Lage in der Altstadt war viel besser als erwartet. Die FEWO mit zwei Balkonen war war sehr angenehm und der Platz für uns drei Reisende war völlig ausreichend. Auch die zwei vorhandenen Bäder mit Toiletten haben den Aufenhalt sehr angenehm sein lassen. Die Unterkunft war im 9. OG und so hat man den Verkehrslärm kaum hören können. Der zur FEWO gehörende PKW Parkplatz war gut zu erreichen im Keller eines Nachbargebäudes.
  
  Die FEWO ist aus meiner Sicht voll empfehlenswert.

  Das Appartment bietet zwei Balkone, zwei Badezimmer und zwei Schlafzimmer. Der Wohn-/Essbereich ist großzügig und gut möbliert (hervorragendes Sofa).
  Durch den Aufzug in die 9. Etage und den Tiefgaragenstellplatz in unmittelbarer Nähe ist alles bequem. In 10‘ waren wir am Theater und Zwinger. Einfach klasse!

  Great location – around 25 min to train station and around 15 min to city center to explore city.
  Spacious apartment for group of people, though, more convinient for two couples due to having two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are two coaches available – one in living room and one in bedroom (one in living room is made of leather coating, that could not be that comfortable to sleep on).
  We did not have hot water when we arrived in the apartment, but when we contacted the apartment, it got resolved within couple of hours.
  
  What could be improved: Busy street next to the appartment building makes it bit noisy. When it was around 30 degrees outside, the air conditioner could have been useful for a better sleep, especially, for one of the rooms that does not have balcony, but only one window.

  Great location. Clean and comfortable furnishings. Agency were easy to get hold of and usually responded fairly quickly. We couldn’t get into the apartment when we arrived because the key locker was broken. Some of the blinds were broken or didn’t work well.
  
  What could be improved: There was a lack of items that would expect in an apartment of this size:
  No iron or vacuum.
  Fans would be useful since there is no air-conditioning and it got VERY hot.
  No information about how anything worked – dishwasher, washing, machine, cooker, microwave, electric doors.
  No useful info for travellers like where things are – supermarkets, good restaurants or emergency services like doctor, hospital, pharmacy.
  Most apartments like this would have some kind of folder with these plus usually notes left by previous occupants with suggestions for places to see, go, eat etc.
  There was loads of crockery but limited amount of cutlery so had to keep washing by hand before dishwasher worth putting on. We had to ask for a change of linen and towels – perhaps they are not used to people staying for more than a few days.

  This apartment is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood near the old town. It has two bedrooms, two baths, two balconies, a living area, a dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen. All facilities work well (I mean “real” electronic cook top, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, etc). A couple or a small family can easily reside here comfortably for a long stay.
  
  We had a good time at Dresden, and the apartment was certainly one of the key reasons.
